June 2007

April & Neil got back from their honeymoon last week and visited our booth at Sunday's bridal show to see some of our new samples we created from their trash the dress session, how cool is that?! Not many couples can say the first time they saw their wedding pics was at a bridal show! LOL We received the sweetest gift and thank you card from them at the show too. Their story about their photographer search was just amazing and I had no idea what they had been through before they walked in my door. April was ok with me posting her comments here:

"Erin – You are amazing. As you know, we had a photographer prior to you who we were just not satisfied with. For me, the photographer was the most important element of the wedding. We chose our 1st photographer even before I had picked out my dress! So, you can understand the panic I was in when we decided we needed a new photographer. We searched everywhere for "the one" and I do mean everywhere…we drove all over the state of Indiana and even went to Ohio and Kentucky. We must have talked to at least 20 people. Finally I found you. I don't remember how I found you, but as soon as I met you I knew. You were so incredibly nice, understanding and talented. You listened to what I wanted and helped make me excited about our wedding again. Things only got better after our first meeting. You were quick to reply to all of my e-mails and suggested great vendors, two of which I ended up using. When we got our pictures back from the engagement session we were so impressed. They were gorgeous! The best part about it was that they looked like us. We weren't sitting stiffly posed or making fake smiles. You captured the real us. Even though we haven't seen our wedding photos yet, we know they will be amazing. Thank you!"

She goes on to thank each member of my staff similarly…and her card nearly made me cry!! 😀 I have the best job in the whole world and the best clients…I'm so thankful for that! April, I hope you enjoy your online collage and some fun previews I posted below…hundreds more to come soon! 😀

April & Neil tied the knot on 6/15….they've since become known as our famous trash the dress couple! 🙂 (See pics below) They had an amazing wedding & reception at Valle Vista, it was absolutely gorgeous! Julie Doyle of D&G Signature Events was their day of coordinator and she was fantastic! Everyone was lined up for pics on time, flowers were pinned on, she helped with all of the last minute details, it was awesome. 210.jpg

Chuck from The Florist at Allisonville Nursery did an amazing job with the flowers as usual! 151.jpg

Did I mention how beautiful she looked?! STUNNING…:D Chuck even made this floral hair piece for her and Karen Hall & Company did a great job with her hair & make-up…

This little girl was SO ADORABLE!!

They found a vintage golf cart nearby so we snuck in for a few quick photos…

I loved their personalized aisle runner….very cool.

They had a harpist for the ceremony, it was gorgeous!!

The horse drawn carriage brought April & her dad to the ceremony site before she walked down the aisle. The horse & carriage was a big hit with the kids too!! I thought this shot was precious….

The ring bearer carried this frog pillow down the aisle…it was so perfect for the setting! LOL We actually heard bull frogs near the pond while shooting pictures so we couldn't help but put the pillow in its place. 🙂

Here's a fun one of the kids in the wedding…they were such a great group to photograph!

And another cool ring shot….

Her cake was amazing! Her aunt made their wedding cake as her gift to them, she is a professional baker so it looked and tasted fabulous. 😀

April MADE these place settings, menus, table cards, etc. Can you believe it?! These were some of the best "do-it-yourself" wedding projects I've ever seen….

Some of the centerpieces had vases that glowed in the dark…SO COOL!

Others were these awesome candle centerpieces that looked equally awesome!

April & Neil booked 176 Keys Dueling Pianos for their reception entertainment and they were awesome! April even got in on some of the musical action…

Ever since I posted the underwater shots from last weekend, we've been getting a TON of e-mails with everyone in awe and itching to see more, so here you go!! This may be the longest post ever! LOL

We started out at Avon Perrenial Gardens….getting their feet wet. Then sitting in the creek…

02.jpg

I loved this one….a little cross processed action going on….

Her eyes just pop in this one…LOVE IT!

Her bouquet was amazing!! It lasted all the way through the wedding day and trash the dress session which is incredible for hydrangeas! I was prepared to stop by a flower shop to pick another bouquet up for her so that we'd have another prop for the shoot and when we arrived, she was there with her wedding day bouquet in hand!! Kudos to Chuck Eaglin from The Florist at Allisonville Nursery on the fabulous, fresh flowers!

They are SO cute together….

HOT!!!

12.jpg

April has the best luck with the weather…every time we have a photo shoot with her, the weather is great and we have fabulous blue skies!

13.jpg

And here we are at the war memorial fountain…getting a little more wet.

14.jpg

LOVED these…

15.jpg16.jpg17.jpg18.jpg

And off to the pool! Here she is diving for the bouquet….:D

Occasionally I like to use props…LOL…this one was pretty funny. Last year when we were in Sanibel Island, I bought this awesome book in a restaurant gift shop about wedding day survival guide tips. As I was packing up for their TTD session, I was looking around my office for some props we may be able to use and came across this book again…this page is titled, "How to Fix the Groom's Wedding Attire" LOL

Underwater dress details…amazing…

Layers upon layers of crinoline!

I called this one "running" 🙂

31.jpg32.jpg33.jpg

The bridal mermaid look…:) Love it!

34.jpg

I guess when I see Chuck this weekend, I need to tell him that his bouquets float! LOL Who knew?!

35.jpg

And of course, "How to Fix the Bride's Wedding Attire"…

36.jpg

Since we're known for our famous emergency kits that we bring to every wedding (and all of the Shout wipes that we go through) we pulled out the box for this shot as a joke. 😀

Soaking wet!

I received this e-mail from Jess tonight, we shot her wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding, reception, made her honeymoon album, shot her Valentine's Day boudoir pics, her friend's wedding, another friend's surprise bridal shower and we'll be shooting her sister's maternity pics in a few weeks. She saw the new blog and my trash the dress pics from last weekend and she's booking her shoot for Aug or Sept this year, even though she's been married for over a year now….ladies, even if we didn't shoot your wedding or your wedding was 20 years ago, get the dress out for a photo shoot, it's SO much fun and there's so many awesome pics that come out of these shoots. Jess sent me this e-mail tonight, "You are like a really cool restaurant, I have to keep coming back until I have tried everything on the menu!" LOL That was awesome and made me laugh!! Then in a later e-mail she said, "I just got my dress out…it's so pretty! It deserves more pictures!! It's so cool that you get to wear it again!" 😀 Jess, I can't wait for your photo shoot!!!!

Last week we photographed Amanda & Ryan and their 2 super sweet doggies, Sydney & Jesse, down at Holcomb Gardens. We photographed Amanda & Ryan's wedding a few years ago so they probably look familiar to some of you blog stalkers. 🙂 They are SUCH an adorable couple and their furbabies were so much fun to hang out with…I even rolled around in the grass with the dogs for some awesome shots!

2.jpg

 I LOVE dog noses….

3.jpg

4.jpg

Jesse was one super cool dog with his shades on….and here's a funny one of Ryan & Jesse. It was so hot that day that I think about every shot had tongues hanging out so we decided we'd might as well run with that idea….LOL

6.jpg

Sydney's favorite birthday cake toy…

5.jpg

This was adorable…we were trying to get Jesse to give Amanda a kiss and when he jumped up on her for kisses, he held her waist. It looked like they were dancing from behind! 🙂

7.jpg

6/12 (the day of the shoot) was Sydney's birthday so what photo shoot wouldn't be complete without some delicious cake from the Three Dog Bakery? 😀 I've shot a lot of cakes in my time but never one quite like this…..:)

8.jpg

Here's Sydney checking out the cake….before the cake dive. 🙂
