April 2014

This weekend we hosted our Spring Mini Session day at Monument Circle in downtown Indy! I was so excited to see that 8 of our 11 sessions were returning clients! (Couples whose weddings we photographed or families who have had us photograph them in the past!) That’s pretty awesome!! 🙂 We photographed couples, seniors, pets,  families, kids, head shots and a 10th wedding anniversary! It was a beautiful day for it and everyone had a great time. We’re looking forward to working with all of you again!!

Last night we had a rare opportunity to photograph an ACTUAL proposal and it was awesome! Michael contacted me last month about his plans to propose to his girlfriend at Coxhall Gardens! He had an elaborate set up planned for Emily, she walked into their home to find rose petals everywhere and a note that said he had a limo coming to get her at 5:30. In the meantime, he was busy setting up candles all over Coxhall and we were in place to capture her reaction as he proposed to her at the gazebo. You could feel the excitement and love between them and she LOVED the ring, it was gorgeous! 🙂 Thanks for allowing us to capture such a special night for you guys!! 🙂

Last week we met up with Stephany & Frank for their awesome engagement session in downtown Indy! Occasionally we do a “traveling” engagement shoot where we stop at a few places within a designated area to capture different looks & backgrounds and I LOVED what they had in mind! We started at the War Memorial Park downtown, then headed over to a nearby alleyway for some dramatic shots, then over to Angie’s List, where they both work. I had NO idea that the Angie’s List campus was as big and as awesome as it is!! Not only is it the PERFECT spot for an engagement shoot but they even have a little diner in the back that was so cute and we ended up shooting there right at sunset so it actually looked like they were enjoying morning coffee together! How perfect is that?! We even got to go up on the rooftop for some sunset pics against the Indy skyline, it truly couldn’t have been a more perfect night. I also had a “full circle moment” when I walked into the firehouse part of Angie’s List. I used to take our FILM (well, specialty projects) to the old Firehouse Colorlab that used to be located in that space about 15-20 years ago ~ isn’t that crazy?! LOL! It was cool to be back there again and see how they revamped the space for office use. Thanks for a fun night you guys, more pics coming soon! 🙂

On 2/1 we photographed Tony & Emily’s AMAZING wedding & reception at Union Station!! This was an extra special wedding for us, not only are they a sweet couple that we adore but Tony is one of our industry friends, he’s a DJ for Event One DJs! We’ve done lots of weddings together before and it was awesome that they chose us to capture their event! 🙂 Emily’s dress was stunning, she looked like a princess and Tony looked pretty dapper himself! I was IN LOVE with their floral ball that was draped over the ceremony space, talk about gorgeous!!

Their ceremony was so pretty and personalized, they surprised their guests with a barber shop quartet and a bagpiper! During cocktail hour, the staff flipped the room and it looked PHENOMENAL! The uplighting really made the room “pop” in photos and the details looked amazing…the centerpieces, monogram, linens, crystals & cake were gorgeous! Emily is a big fan of Disney films so Darcie and her team surprised Emily & Tony by having Wes play “Be Our Guest” during the salad parade! I loved it!

They also surprised their guests with a fun mother/son dance that Tony and his mom choreographed, an adorable candy buffet, a photo booth with fun cut outs, late night snacks & a confetti exit! It was definitely a wedding that none of us will ever forget!! Thanks for a fabulous time you guys! Enjoy the photos!! 🙂
