Last Tuesday evening, John & I went back down to Terre Haute for baby Jalen's first official photo shoot. 🙂 He is so adorable and was such a trooper through all of the posing and picture taking…although with a photogenic family like his, I'm sure he's already used to the cameras clicking and flashes going off! LOL 🙂 April made this teddy bear for him while she was pregnant so we started off with a few photos of him with his favorite teddy bear….

He slept through some of the shots, isn't this precious?!

I love how much he ADORES his mommy!!!

He's become quite the side-shooting photographer lately! LOL

I LOVE this one….we held up a black blanket in front of April to get this studio-type shot….worked like a charm!

Welcome home baby Jalen!!! 🙂

I tried to post a poll on here and for some reason, it wasn't working so I'll just allow everyone to post their honest feedback about this in the comments section. 🙂 On our main EHP website, we have a weddings page (that some of you may not even be aware of) where we've been posting image collages online for the last 3 or 4 years. Our wedding photographer, Gary Fong, did something similar back when we got married and we wished that he would've made the collage available for purchase. So, we created image collages for every wedding (back before we starting blogging) and added Paypal to the bottom of each collage so that if someone wanted to order an 8×10 of their collage, they could. We've had some orders but not a ton, but what we've been noticing is that everyone seems to be coming to our blog to check out their preview pics because they're MUCH larger than what's on the image collage, they can copy & post them in their knot bios, myspace & facebook accounts, etc. and I think everyone likes to read the stories behind the images. Which got me thinking…I spend about 2-3 hours per wedding just choosing the collage pics, editing them, creating the collage, posting to the web & blog, adding Paypal, etc. etc. and since we've been so busy shooting lately that we can hardly keep up with editing (and the fact that not many people buy the collages anymore) maybe we should just be linking the couples names to their blog post instead of creating individual collages for each wedding. What do you think?

Last weekend, we photographed Charles & Anne's wedding at St. Luke's Catholic Church and their reception at the Indiana Historical Society. As I was in the dressing room, I noticed that one of the girls had this fun, colorful folder sticking out of her purse so we used it as a prop for a cool ring shot. 🙂 Their colors were reds and oranges and it just so happened that the red and orange colored circles were right next to one another…awwww….:) Here's a cute one of Chas seeing Anne for the first time. I love it when couples choose to see each other before the ceremony, they're less stressed throughout the day, we can get great natural reaction shots up close without 300 guests watching them and it gives them more time for cool photo opportunities throughout the day too!

They had perfect weather that day (although HOT!)  but we couldn't help but take advantage of the fabulous location for photos!

I ADORE this shot….the back lighting and shadows were perfect and the wedding party had fun with this one…

At the IHS, they have a Stardust Cafe and on the steps, they painted the lyrics to a song by Hoagy Carmichael…

My favorite….

For their favors, Classic Cakes created these delicious cookies!  I HIGHLY recommend them and this idea, it was a huge hit!

We've had a lot of fun, unique wedding cakes lately! I hope this trend continues because they're awesome to photograph! 🙂

John was up on the balcony while Diana and I were shooting on the floor…he's been side-shooting a lot more lately and since he's been through all of my training sessions, he's been getting fantastic shots and unique angles. LOVED IT!

Here's the folio we gave them at the end of the night which was a huge hit! We've been printing a folio of pics at receptions for probably 4-5 years now, I think we're the only ones in town doing this? Anyway, it got passed around the whole reception hall and everyone loved it. 🙂

Downtown at night looks amazing….

Congrats you guys, hope you survived the Hawaii hurricane & earthquake this week on your honeymoon! :O

I know this is a belated b-day post since his b-day was on 8/7, but I had to post some fun pics from all 3 of his celebrations! 🙂614.jpg

My mom & grandparents and I took him out to the Cheesecake Factory for his b-day and we all had a great time!

Then on 8/6 at 11:54 p.m, I was like a giddy schoolgirl waiting for him to open his present on his b-day. 🙂 That night, I grabbed my little point & shoot digital camera when I was in my pj's and made him open his gift early…I bought him a new Toshiba laptop! He LOVED it!! His web design and consulting business, Inspire Media, has just taken off like crazy the past 2 years and he was in need of a faster computer that he could work on outside of the office so this was the perfect solution. Our kitties bought him the wireless mouse and mouse pad of course. 🙂

Then a few days later, we celebrated his b-day with my dad's side of the family which was fun! He's like me, we both LOVE chocolate cake….yummm!!!

Make a wish….:) Happy Birthday!! I love you John!!! XOXO

I had to share these two pics too, although they probably look a tad out of place.  The night of his party, we did a mini photo shoot with my sisters for a new client that I'm working with. This client sews custom pillows, embroiders towels and blankets and makes amazing gift baskets. Well, after we got done doing some product shots, I took a few of Leah & Mary by themselves…I can't believe how grown up they are! Leah was sporting her tiara that she wore from when she was the flower girl at our wedding 4 years ago! LOL (It worked well with my client's "Princess" pillow theme) 🙂

Love you girls!! You two are the most beautiful sisters ever!! 🙂
