Rachel & Nathan are both runners (he proposed by engraving a runner's ID tag with her first name and his last name and "Will you marry me?" on it!! How cute is that?!) so I suggested they bring their running shoes to their engagement session. We tied their shoe laces together for a "tied the knot" ring shot. 😀

Leaf fight!! 🙂

These two are so adorable together and are so much fun to photograph, they are naturals in front of the camera which makes our jobs SO easy!

Another fave…this one reminds me of Christmas with the holly berries. 🙂

Running…a natural "pose" for the two of them…:)

Melissa saw a shot similar to this on another photog's website and wanted to give it a try…so this was a bit experimental and I LOVED the sun flare of course!! Great idea Melissa! 😀

Congrats you guys!! Can't wait for your wedding next year! 🙂

That crazy sinus infection from 2 weeks ago has made another return…so I'm working from home, trying to lay low and keep my germs to myself today. LOL Luckily, I still have antibiotics left over from the last round of this but that's kind of a catch 22 now. The doctor said to try not to take them because your body can become immune to them but then when you don't finish the bottle, it seems to come back! Weird. So yeah, I only took about 1/3 of the bottle last time and tried to let my body fight off the rest of it….guess that didn't quite work as well as planned. Anyway, e-mail will be the best way to reach me today since I'm working from home…. 😉 I'll post some blog pics today since John & I were working on those last night though…I'm soooo behind in blogging, sorry guys!! Between shooting, editing, client meetings, prepping for the bridal show, working on reprints and albums and everything, it sure would be nice to have a few extra hours in the day during this season!! LOL

We got slammed with pre-Christmas album and reprint orders last week (which is a good thing!) so I'm a little behind in editing and posting to the blog….we have 3 shoots this weekend too so I'll get some new pics up as soon as possible, thanks for checking back! 🙂

Many of you know that we work with Karen Hall & Co. on a lot of our weddings and photo shoots and she is running an AWESOME promotion for anyone who books her as a referral from us or this blog! 🙂 When you book your hair & make-up with her, you'll receive a FREE trial run of your hair & make-up service when you also book at least 4 members of your wedding party at initial booking. (Valid for new clients only) Make sure you mention you found her through us to take advantage of this promotion!

One of my clients sent me this hilarious e-mail, she and her hubby and son live in Chicago now and she tried to create her own photo shoot for her son's 3 year photos recently, I have to give her props for attempting this shoot on her own….LOL (She granted permission to post this funny story…)

"OK, I have a new sympathy for your job. I know you bring joy to so many people's lives by creating AWESOME photographs, but I staged my own photo shoot with Nathan this weekend and barely survived it. I seriously thought I might keel over. I took him to this awesome playground/park area here called Riverwalk. It's like Holcomb Gardens but much bigger, lots of water, trees, pretty leaves, etc. I had this all pictured just right, with awesome pics to capture my baby boy… now that he's going to be THREE….WELL… no wonder you guys bring a WHOLE CREW with you when you shoot! I needed an army to get him to look semi-not-retarded, of course he had green snot, then I'm underneath this playground thing taking a picture upside down and landed in sand, I had sand up my butt, a snotty kleenex in my pocket… and Nathan has this concerned look on his face, going "Momma? What you doing? Yer not post to be down there…" then I'm like, OKAY… sit here on this rock and DON'T MOVE because I'll have to sacrifice the camera to come in after you and I can't swim very well. Then he's like, "EW… MOMMA….dare's goose poop….. EW. Dat is SO gross…." I'm like, shut up, this will be a great picture. Don't touch the goose poop. Then later I put him in a tree, it was SO cute, and he's hugging this tree…. I'm exhausted by that point, but hopefully we got some good pictures! Then, as we're walking back to the car (for the sucker I promised him for good behavior) He goes, "Momma? remember when I was in dat tree?" (Yes, Nathan, it was two minutes ago….) and he goes, "I looked precious in dat tree…." sigh….here's to good, dedicated, LIMBER photographers like you!!!"
