February 2009

Last Saturday, we photographed Rachael & Ryan’s awesome wedding & reception at The Columns in Greenwood. They were going for a “Winter Wonderland” theme which worked out perfectly because it lightly snowed the night before the wedding! 🙂

When the bride & groom both have cool shoes, you know it’s going to be a fun wedding day!!

They are so adorably cute together!!!

Love the bling!!

McNamara did a fantastic job with her flowers!

John got this shot & I really liked it…she looks so peaceful here…

Gorgeous!! Karen Hall & Company did her hair & make-up…LOVE them!!

My kind of girl…. 🙂

LOL!

Oh yes, we went there…. ;p

Choosing which one they wanted to get…lol…

Ryan liked the store next to the tattoo shop too! LOL

I’m often asked if chair covers and full length linens make that much of a difference in photos and my answer is always YES!! 🙂 In fact, Rachael even went a step further and hired Evans AV to bring in special uplighting and snowflake lights that were circulating throughout the room which really brought the room to life!

They each made a list of 10 things they would (or wouldn’t) do for one another…it was so funny and sweet, they almost made me cry!! 😉

I love how she looks at him…she adores you Ryan!! 🙂

Rachael blinged these out herself…loved it!

Classic Cakes did a fantastic job as always!!

First dance…Ryan struttin’ his stuff…

Rachael’s dad gave a really sweet toast to the couple…

Rachael said she loved a lot of candids…we aim to please!! LOL I actually went to high school with these guys…not much has changed! 😉

LOL!

Tenille & Ryan together…Tenille is one of our past clients too, she’s such a sweetie! More pics of her to come soon too!!

Thanks for a great time everyone!! More pics coming soon! 🙂

This is just a quick blog post and if you’re already a friend of mine on FaceBook, then you probably already saw this pic – but I realized I forgot to blog this! (So many portals to keep up with these days! LOL) Anyway, for V-Day this year, John & I got each other almost the same thing, isn’t that funny?! 🙂 I bought him a cookie bouquet from Cheryl & Co. and he went to Cookies by Design! We went out to dinner to Kincaid’s that night and the highlight of our dinner was when I looked down at the menu and noticed the Holy Cow, Cupcakes logo on the menu that night!!! 🙂 They were featuring Karen’s cupcakes for dessert at our favorite Indy restaurant…I couldn’t believe it. Of course, we were trying to take a night off from shooting so all we have is a photo in John’s phone but once he sends it to me, I’ll post it on here. They were delicious! 🙂

Since I’m a little behind on blog posts (we’ve had a busy couple of weeks!!) I’ll have 4 posts going up tonight, yay! 🙂 On 2/8, we celebrated my great grandma’s 100th birthday!!! We were so excited to celebrate with her that day. She had her birthday announced in the local newspaper and a local TV crew came out to her house to interview her that day. Isn’t that awesome?! Here were some of her cards laying out at the big party…

She was so excited to see everyone for her party, it was so cute! 🙂

Great Grandma & John together…

Her pretty corsage they bought her for her special day…

Her guest book…

Grandma, Grandpa & Mom with Great Grandma…

Aren’t they adorable together?! 🙂 I have the coolest grandparents…grandma even follows my blog!! (Hi grandma!)

It wouldn’t be a party without photos of Great Grandma and her pug, Suzy!!

Someone had made Grandma a basket of cookies for her birthday…I think Suzy was anxious to dig in! LOL

Isn’t she adorable?!!? 🙂

My Grandpa and his brother & sister bought grandma a dozen long stem roses…they were gorgeous!!

Happy Birthday Grandma!! Hope you had a great time at the party! XOXO

On 2/7, we photographed Chris & Ashley’s gorgeous wedding & reception at Woodland Country Club in Carmel. They were so much fun to photograph and we got so many amazing detail shots and candids that day, I loved it!! Check out the “bling” against the damask print on their favor boxes – LOVED IT!! 🙂 Here’s our handsome groom, Chris…

And our beautiful bride, Ashley…

Gorgeous!! There was just enough snow on the ground outside to make for some amazing reflective window light!!

Pretty flowers…

I bought a new photoshop action this week called “black & white film grain” …like it?? 🙂

They’re so cute together!!

LOL!!

After some fun pics, it was time for the ceremony to begin…

Isn’t she adorable!?!?

LOL! Notice how they’re ALL clasped right over left?! 🙂 …yes, a bit random but I loved this shot…

Classic Cakes did an AMAZING job as usual!!

I’m really loving the black & white theme, I hope we see that as a trend this year! 🙂

They set up a slideshow during dinner that everyone enjoyed…

Even Ashley’s mom got out on the dance floor to party! 🙂

Thanks for a great time you guys!! More pics coming soon! 🙂

“WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that Erin Hession Photography has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awardsâ„¢!

In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means Erin Hession Photography is one of the very best in wedding photography.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”
