May 2012

Several years ago, I met Amanda Fales (another amazing Indy photographer) for lunch and afterwards I ended up meeting her husband and their dog, Cheddar. Cheddar is SO much like Buddy, we kept saying “we HAVE to get our dogs together for a play date!!” Well, we’re both incredibly busy so finding time was hard, but on 5/15, we finally made it happen! 🙂 John & I needed some updated photos for our website and social media profiles and Amanda & Andy did too so we decided to each take photos of each other the same night that our puppies got the chance to play together and it worked out perfectly! Buddy brought Cheddar some handmade dog treats from Izzy’s Place and John & I brought some human treats (decorated in dog themes of course!) from Holy Cow Cupcakes. We enjoyed them after a great cook out and evening of conversation – we MUST do it again soon, we had SO much fun and so did our puppies!!! 🙂 (Check out our awesome new head shot on my facebook page by clicking HERE!) The AMAZING Suzy Grifa from Rejuve Salon did a fabulous job on my hair & make-up…love her!! Thanks Amanda, Andy & Cheddar for a fun time that night!

On 5/12 we photographed Chris & Michael’s beautiful pink wedding & reception at St. Lawrence Catholic Church & Crowne Plaza’s Illinois Street Ballroom! They are such a fun couple with fun friends who were up for anything – check out their wedding party pics – hilarious!! 🙂 Michael’s dress, flowers & details were amazing to photograph, I LOVED the pink (of course) and all of the bling that she incorporated too! We had a great time that day! 🙂

After Cori & Lance’s shoot, we had planned a quick photo shoot with our friends Milton & Katie! We’ve all been friends for a long time (Milton was John’s best man in our wedding 9 years ago!) so we were excited to hear that they moved back to Indy and had just moved into a beautiful new house! They wanted a few quick photos to capture this new chapter in their lives. We were excited to see them again and to go to dinner together afterwards to catch up. They are fellow cat lovers so their furbabies made an appearance in the photos too of course! 😉 Oh! AND it was Katie’s b-day the week before so we got them a Happy Housewarming/Happy B-day cake too…

On 5/8, we met up with one of our favorite past clients at the canal downtown (we’ve done SIX photo shoots for them over the years – WOW!) 🙂 and we took some adorable pics of their new family of 4! Lauren is a little over a year old now and Cori needed some updated family photos and cute photos of Lauren. Lauren LOVED the ducks at the canal, it was adorable! I think she wanted to swim with them! Kellen is a great big brother for her, it’s crazy to see how much he’s grown up since our last photo shoot when he was about her age! Thanks for another fun photo shoot! 🙂

Last year John & I photographed my aunt & cousins crossing the finish line of the Mini Marathon, my aunt did it in celebration of her 50th birthday and John was so inspired that he decided that he wanted to do it this year! 🙂 He trained long and hard and walked nearly 100 miles during the course of his training. We had no idea that the day of the Mini would be so HOT this year though, they yellow flagged the race by the time he got to the track and by the time Melissa & I were at the finish line to photograph him & our friends and family crossing the line, I was pretty worried about how everyone was holding up. There was one lady who crossed the finish line and then collapsed right in front of us – SCARY!! Luckily our group stayed very well hydrated and kept an eye on each other the whole time and they all made it across! YAY!! 🙂 I’m so proud of all of you!! XOXO
