June 2017

On 5/13 we photographed Ellen & Josh’s gorgeous wedding!

How did he propose? Almost eight years after their love story first began, Josh proposed to Ellen in the very same spot where he asked her to be his girlfriend. The two walked up to a sunny spot in the Cathedral High School courtyard, and all of their family and friends awaited them with huge smiles. As a violinist played, Josh got down on one knee and recounted their love story. He said, “Almost eight years ago to the day, I asked you a very important question here, and today I’m here to ask you another one…”

What was your favorite wedding moment? The sparkler send-off at the end of the night was truly magical. It was an amazing way to say farewell to our family and friends. A cherry on top of the best day of our lives!

What was his favorite wedding moment? Exchanging our vows was such a special and important moment of the day. It meant so much to be able to make our lifelong promises in front of all of the people we love. Even though there was an entire audience watching, it felt like just the two of us were in our own little world.

What was the funniest wedding moment? The wedding party entered wearing white sunglasses and each couple had a few seconds to show their best dance moves. It was a fun way to start the party!

What was your first dance song? “You Make Me Feel So Young” by Frank Sinatra

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Tuscany, Italy.

What advice would you give to future brides? Take several moments on your wedding day to stop thinking about the details and just be present in the moment. Look around at all of the smiling faces and know that they are there to support you and your groom, not just for today, but for the rest of your lives! That is something truly special to celebrate.

On 5/7, we photographed Shengwen & Fan’s gorgeous wedding!

In Shengwen’s words…

How did he propose? “One Saturday morning, Fan woke me up and I thought he prepared breakfast for me as usual. I didn’t wash my face, or brush my teeth, or even wear my glasses. He opened the bedroom door and I saw roses on the floor, in the shape of a heart. He asked, “Will you marry me?” I said, “Yes!!” It was really a big surprise to me.”

What was your favorite wedding moment? “I loved the processional with my dad. We were so touched, especially when the officiant asked my dad if we receive their blessing, my dad said in Chinese, “They have our best wishes and we hope their love lasts forever and always.”

What was his favorite wedding moment? “Fan enjoyed our first dance so much. We love that song. Even though we don’t know much about dancing, we enjoyed that moment.”

What was the funniest wedding moment? “We had cute babies dancing with us. They were so happy and enjoyable.”

What was your first dance song? “Then” by Brad Paisley

Where did you go on your honeymoon? “Puerto Rico”

What advice would you give to future brides? “Don’t be nervous. On your big day, every moment is special and unforgettable. So just enjoy the day with your family & friends!”
