March 2018

FC Tucker celebrated their 100th year in business by hosting their Centennial Celebration and President’s Club event at Lucas Oil Stadium on 2/16 and it was a night I’ll never forget! They had dignitaries from all over the U.S. make presentations that evening and their surprise guest speaker was Peyton Manning! (It was such a hard secret to keep!! LOL) I had a chance to chat with Peyton a little bit on our way to the step and repeat that night and he’s a super nice, down to earth guy. 🙂 FC Tucker presented the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital with a check for $100,000 that night which was really special. They also honored many top agents with awards and then the Endless Summer Band kicked off the huge party! The Tucker Marketing team created the World’s Largest Selfie station on part of the football field, there was lots of dancing and the Tucker “T” mascot even made an appearance. 🙂 We ran into so many people that night, lots of friends and past clients, it definitely felt more like a reunion than anything. It was such an honor to be part of a once in a lifetime event like this, thank you FC Tucker for choosing us to capture these special memories!!

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding in January at The Marott! The glass atrium looked gorgeous and they lucked out with the weather, we were able to sneak outside for a few photos before and after the ceremony! I loved their dessert bar that they had for their guests that included a variety of cakes and even cupcakes, they were a huge hit! (And of course, we made use of the cupcakes for ring shots) 🙂 They turned their ceremony space into a dance party after dinner and everyone had an amazing time that night!!

In Jessica’s words…

  1. How did he propose?
On Mother’s Day! He proposed with the help of our daughter, in the Mother’s Day card I received from my daughter.
  2. What was your favorite wedding moment?
I loved every moment about the wedding, but I would have to say that my favorite moment was finally walking down the aisle. There was so much anticipation and nerves involved beforehand and all of that was relieved when I finally got to walk down the aisle towards my new life.
  3. What was his favorite wedding moment?
His favorite wedding moment was our journey back up the aisle. The moment they pronounced us man and wife was my all-time favorite moment of the wedding.
  4. What was the funniest wedding moment?
The funniest wedding moment was the dancing. From the dances with mother and son to the children dancing on the dance floor at the reception.
  5. What was your first dance song?
Our first dance as man and wife was to Musiq Soulchild’s Don’t Change
  6. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We went to Montego Bay, Jamaica
  7. What advice would you give to future brides?
Find some way to not stress about so much, because at the end of the day all that was stressed about doesn’t even matter. For all the planning mishaps and things that seem to go wrong in preparation for the big day, it was perfect! And this made me feel silly for worrying about small details. So just relax and know that everything will turn out perfectly!

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding and reception at The Manor at The Children’s Museum! I was excited to get the chance to photograph a wedding there because I was actually a flower girl in a wedding there back around 1986 or so, so it was an awesome full circle moment! 🙂 I loved Heidi’s dress and vintage shoes, they fit the venue and style so perfectly and she even had a custom brooch bouquet and we were obsessed with it!! So cool! Also, they wrote their own vows to each other and nearly made US cry!! LOL It was such a sweet, intimate wedding with their closest friends and family around, it was a really neat event to be a part of. After their sparkler exit, they braved the chilly night and we met up with them again at Monument Circle for some downtown night time photos and then headed over to The Alexander Hotel for some fun artsy photos in the lobby, it was a great night!

In Heidi’s words…

1.      How did he propose?

Mike had asked my mom if we could have my grandmother’s diamond ring. But with my grandmother’s ring in Charlotte and us in Indianapolis, when he proposed, Mike used his signet ring his grandfather had given him. I wore his grandfather’s ring until my mom came up to go dress shopping and brought my grandmother’s ring with her. To be able to include our grandparents in our story, made it all the more meaningful to us.

2.      What was your favorite wedding moment?

There are a couple moments that stood out. Mike and I decided to write our own vows as well as say traditional vows. The moment when he read the words he’d written to me was awesome. He wrote such great vows. I loved them. The other moment would be just after we walked down the aisle as husband and wife. We went straight to a little room to sign our marriage license, and for a few moments, it was just the two of us, for the first time all day. Having that short time alone together before our parents and the minister came in was something I’ll always remember.

3.      What was his favorite wedding moment?

My favorite wedding moment was seeing Heidi walk into the room for the ceremony. I was so nervous standing there in front of our friends and family and since I hadn’t seen her all day, the anticipation was killing me. Seeing her standing there after the doors opened made all the nerves go away and instantly put a smile on my face.

4.      What was the funniest wedding moment?

We both agree the funniest part of the wedding was when my dad made his toast. It was poignant, heartfelt, and made everyone laugh (and Heidi cry). After all the planning, anticipation, and stress that had gone into the wedding, laughing hard during dinner, surrounded by everyone we love, felt really nice.

5.      What advice would you give to future brides?

There’s not a one-size-fits-all for wedding planning. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing, do what is right for you and your future husband. Have fun and enjoy yourselves!

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding at Our Lady of Grace & Purgatory and had a blast with them!! I’m still catching up on blogging our insanely busy winter wedding season (is that a new trend?!) 🙂 but looking at these pics makes me want to grab a cozy sweater and hot chocolate all over again!! 🙂 They had such amazing custom details that day that included custom wedding party gifts, cufflinks, matching flannel shirts and shawls, lockets in the flowers and matching socks for the guys. They even had an ice block luminary with greenery and berries in the ice that lit up the walkway into the reception! The sunset was gorgeous that night, it was perfect for photos. They wowed their guests with a warm hot chocolate bar with all the goodies and even had a custom cake topper to showcase their mutual love of cycling. It was a fun event to shoot for sure, you know how much I LOVE fancy details!! 😉

In Ann’s words…

1.      How did he propose?

Andrew treated me to a day of luxury so I went with my mom to get my nails done and we went shopping for a new outfit for my dinner date with Andrew. He took me out to Stone Creek Dining at the Hamilton Town Center Mall. He then took us back to our house to watch a Christmas movie. Before we started the movie, he talked about how much he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He brought a large diamond ring ornament he had purchased from Pier 1 from the back of the tree to the front and my ring was strung on the satin ribbon, dangling down. He got down on one knee and proposed. I, of course, said, “yes” and cried!

2.      What was your favorite wedding moment?

My favorite wedding moment was the look in Andrew’s eyes when I first walked down the aisle.

3.      What was his favorite wedding moment?

His favorite wedding moment was our first dance.

4.      What was the funniest wedding moment?

The funniest wedding moment would have to be at the start of our wedding ceremony. The ring bearer and flower girl refused to walk with their parents down the aisle, so instead of walking, they were carried and cried the whole way down. Even though they refused and were crying, they were still so adorable.

5.      What was your first dance song?

We danced to “Everything” by Michael Bublé for our first dance.

6.      Where are you going on your honeymoon?

Our honeymoon is still undecided, but we plan to go somewhere along the east coast.

7.      What advice would you give to future brides?

A few of my married bridesmaids told me that morning to make sure I take those steps back to reflect on the moments throughout the day and to remember to breathe. You only have this moment once and it goes so fast. I took their advice and I would definitely say that that was the best thing for me.

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding and reception at Scottish Rite and it was GORGEOUS!! They had so many stunning details…custom wedding party gifts, beautiful flowers, sentimental mementos in remembrance of her brother, a custom aisle runner that included a message to her dad, and she had a fabulous 2 piece dress from Brides by Young! And THAT CAKE. omg. We were going crazy over their stunning 5 tier gold and ivory cake from Classic Cakes!! It’s a new fave for sure! 🙂 Thanks for a fun time that day you guys!! LOTS more pics coming soon! 😉

In Molly’s words…

1.      How did he propose?

Travis and I were supposed to go to dinner with my brother and his girlfriend. I was supposed to meet him at our new house that we were fixing up.  He surprised me by having the ring in the “engagement ring fund” piggybank on the table in the living room, where I could see it when I first walked in the front door. I pretty much blacked out I was so surprised and so in shock. I remember asking him if he was going to ask me…and I guess he already had, I just didn’t remember it (LOL). He told me he wanted me to have a good memory in our new house, since that was where I found out my brother had passed away, and he wanted to end the year on a happy note. After he proposed, he had our family and closest friends waiting a few blocks away at my aunt’s house to surprise me, and to celebrate with us. I will always remember (kinda) 12-14-16 🙂

2.      What was your favorite wedding moment?

My favorite wedding moment was making Travis cry during our vows LOL! (It was my goal).

3.      What was his favorite wedding moment?

Travis’ favorite wedding moment was when when we got to have our own private cocktail hour just the two of us right after the ceremony – we got time to just relax without everyone there, and it was nice to just spend time together as a married couple.

4.      What was the funniest wedding moment?

Our first look where Travis told me “you have lipstick on your teeth”…very romantic!

5.      What was your first dance song?

Perfect By Ed Sheeran 🙂

6.      What advice would you give to future brides?

My advice for future brides would be to relax on the wedding day, and to definitely use Erin for their photographer because she and her team are absolutely amazing, they make sure everything you could ever think of is taken care of! I was so happy to have them the day of the wedding, I have been telling everyone I know who is getting married they HAVE to use her! They definitely made the day go so much smoother, and we got all the pictures we could have wanted and more. Even the little things like John giving me sips of water in between shots, and making sure I got something to eat meant the world! 🙂
