February 2019

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding at Industry 828 in December and it was GORGEOUS!! Not only are Karly & Brandon adorable together but I loved all of their fabulous details that day! Her dress, monogrammed invitations, personalized flannels, flowers, decor, lighting, cupcakes & donut buffet were over the top AMAZING!! I love it when my couples put a lot of thought into how everything will look for photos and go the extra mile to make everything personalized! Their cute dog Lucy even made an appearance for some of their photos! 🙂 Thanks for a fun time that day, lots more pics to come!

In her words…

1.      How did he propose? “We were decorating for Christmas, our favorite time of the year and we were decorating the tree and I was messing with the ornaments and he said behind me, ‘You are missing one more ornament’ and turned around to a ring!”

2.      What was your favorite wedding moment? “My favorite wedding moment was obviously the engagement, but soaking in the moments that he was going to be my husband was my favorite. Favorite moment during the wedding was our first look and writing our own vows, it was so special to hear from him.”

3.      What was his favorite wedding moment? “His favorite was our first look”

4.      What was the funniest wedding moment? “The funniest part was doing the “sparkler” kiss that lasted awhile and hearing our friends trotting around us with their sparklers. Brandon’s surprise end of his speech also made us laugh so hard.”

5.      What was your first dance song? “Ho Hey – Lumineers”

6.      What advice would you give to future couples? “To enjoy every moment of the day and not to worry about the smallest details and let everything just flow.”

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding at the Willows on Westfield in December and we had a blast with them that day! I was obsessed with all of their gorgeous details!! Her dress, the custom groomsmen gifts, her shoes, flowers, cake, cake topper, decor & lighting were all just stunning! They have a mutual love of dinosaurs so during her consultation, I suggested that she get a dinosaur toy just for ring shots and she loved that idea! LOL The dino went with them on their honeymoon and ended up in some cute pics on Facebook after the wedding too! 🙂 Leah & Adam are so cute together and I love their sense of humor…I bet that dinosaur makes an appearance in all of their major life events going forward now! 😉 LOVE it!!

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding at The Rathskeller and we had so much fun with them that day! I loved all of their special details…their personalized vows, her beautiful dress, sparkly shoes, David’s love note on the bottom of her shoes, their gorgeous flowers and venue, custom favors & I loved their s’mores bar, it was so cute!! 🙂 I also loved how they incorporated David’s children into the wedding ceremony and how he danced with all of the girls at the reception, it was so sweet. I REALLY LOVED their “secret” last dance after everyone else left at the end of the night. I wish more couples would do this! It’s a nice way to just be together and enjoy the last few moments of the wedding day. After that, we took them down Mass Ave for some night time shots and even treated them to ice cream at the end of the night! It was a great day!!

In her words…

1.      How did he propose?  It was the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend, and we were doing our own small celebration at Rick’s Café Boatyard on Eagle Creek Reservoir.  I had taken David there the year before, so we decided to continue the celebration.  We had a nice dinner out on the deck, and even witnessed another couple get engaged in front of the whole restaurant.  I was mortified and leaned over to David and whispered something along the lines of, “I don’t know what you’re planning, but it better not be anything that public.”  I had no idea that he had the ring in his pocket.  After dinner, we went down by the gazebo to take some family pictures, and when he asked his oldest daughter to take our picture, I didn’t realize that she was actually taking a video.  As I was standing there with a cheesy grin on my face, David got down on one knee and asked me to become a part of the family.  I obviously said yes, and the kids all ran over and gave us a hug.  It was really special to have them all involved.

2.      What was your favorite wedding moment?  My favorite wedding moment was walking towards David.  I had actually been a ball of nerves (and tears) while I was standing on the stairs before walking down the aisle.  Although they didn’t completely subside, being with him and knowing that we were finally going to get to say our vows and become “the Lauermanns” was very comforting to me.

3.      What was his favorite wedding moment?  According to David, “my favorite moment was seeing her walk down the aisle, but especially once she finally got to me and I could take her hand.”

4.      What was the funniest wedding moment?  We both agree the funniest wedding moment is when David said in his vows that he would promise to show me love even when Purdue loses, so that would be often.  I couldn’t believe he said that!  A close second is when our officiant started crying and I jokingly said to her to “get it together”. 🙂

5.      What was your first dance song?  We danced to “Amen” by Dave Barnes.  I shared the song with him shortly after meeting as one of my favorites, and we have continued to reference the first line “we will have love” throughout our relationship.  I also love that it says in the chorus “what is done and yet to come, amen”.  David and I both share a strong faith and believe that our marriage should be centered around our relationship to God, who brought us together.  It was important to me to have that included in our first dance as husband and wife.

6.      What advice would you give to future couples?  Our advice for future couples is to just enjoy each moment for what it is.  The things that go right and the things that go wrong will all be memories that you will look back on and enjoy.  You just have to find the fun in every single moment.  I would also recommend (organization-wise) that you print out the picture schedule and give them to everyone involved.  (I agree!) 😉 I found out that emailing them out a couple of times was not enough, as most people didn’t actually look at them and then had to be tracked down when they were needed.  It would save some time and worry!

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding in the Fall and we had so much fun with them that day! (I’m still catching up on blogging/editing) 😉 We actually photographed Megan’s sister’s wedding a few years ago so it was great to see a lot of familiar faces that day. Everything was so pretty…her dress, flowers, their cake, decor, I loved it all so much!! Even though it was super windy that evening, we had an AMAZING sunset so we took them out back for more photos on the patio that evening! Their sunset pics were some of my favorite shots from the day…definitely canvas-worthy for sure! Thanks for a fun time you guys!! 🙂

In her words…

1.      How did he propose? Bryan worked with my two sisters to setup a surprise proposal for me back in August of 2017. In his excitement, he accidentally texted me on a group text asking “so which weekend are you guys available for the proposal?” I responded with, “I’m available whenever.” 🙂 Somehow, Bryan still managed to surprise me. I thought we were headed downtown for a sisters’ night, but when we got to the circle, I saw Bryan waiting. It had just poured rain right before we showed up, so he was soaking wet and the Circle was empty. It took me a minute to fully understand what was happening, and I didn’t get out of the car right away which made Bryan nervous. Eventually I came to my senses and got out of the car and walked up to him. Neither of us fully remember what he said, but we both remember that I said “Yes!” Afterwards, we went to the Omni hotel and had a celebratory drink. The Omni is where my sister Carey had her wedding reception. I was told then that we had reservations at a mystery restaurant so we said goodbye to my sisters and checked into our room and got ready to go to dinner. We got in an Uber and headed to “dinner.” We arrived at the Rathskeller, which is where my other sister Kathleen had her wedding reception. When we got out to the beer garden, my family, Bryan’s family, and our friends were all waiting for us. We spent the night enjoying the live music, beer, and celebrated the start of our new life together.

2.      What was your favorite wedding moment? The ceremony. It was so incredibly special and I loved every minute of standing by my groom.

3.      What was his favorite wedding moment? Seeing me walk down the aisle.

4.      What was the funniest wedding moment? Matthew (7) , our ring bearer, dancing at the reception and telling everyone that he’s going to be famous.

5.      What was your first dance song? “Die A Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett

6.      Where are you going on your honeymoon? Cabo

7.      What advice would you give to future couples? Soak in every moment.. even the ones that make you want to pull your hair out! It will be over before you know it. Don’t be afraid to delegate wedding tasks, either. (I agree!) 🙂
