Nicole + Jacob = Married!

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding last weekend at the Lincoln Park Gazebo in Zionsville! Their original wedding plans took a turn when COVID hit, but that didn’t stop them from having a gorgeous ceremony at the spot where Jacob proposed to her, so it all worked out perfectly! PLUS, we get to see them again next year for their vow renewal and huge party! 🙂 Yay! We actually photographed Nicole’s sister’s wedding 2 years ago and we love her whole family, I’m so glad that everything worked out and that they still got to have an amazing wedding on their original wedding date.

They also had SO many gorgeous details for us to photograph, several of them had a lot of sentimental value! The necklace that Nicole wore is actually the diamond from her grandma’s engagement ring and after she passed away in 1988 her aunt had it made it into a necklace. Nicole’s sister, Allison, wore it at her wedding too as her “Something Borrowed”. The handkerchief wrapped around her bouquet was also her grandma’s, she carried it on her wedding day on November 16, 1946, then Nicole’s mom carried it on her wedding day on June 30, 1984, then Allison had it wrapped around her bouquet for her wedding May 19, 2018 and then Nicole had it at her wedding August 29, 2020. How amazing is it that her hanky was used in FOUR weddings and that it’s about 74 years old?! They also did a champagne toast back at her parent’s house after the ceremony and Nicole and Jacob used the toasting glasses that her parents used at their wedding. Allison and Troy used those at their wedding as well! I knew they looked familiar! 🙂

Nicole’s dress was stunning (and she gets to wear it twice! #winning!!) and her shoes were fabulous too! Jacob surprised her with a beautiful diamond & sapphire bracelet and wrote her a sweet letter that she opened before getting dressed and she surprised him with a new watch. They are both so thoughtful! Her jewelry, flowers, hairpiece, and ceremony decor were just perfect! We shot their first look at the park and then some family photos, followed by the ceremony and their first dance inside the gazebo. We can’t wait to celebrate with you again next year! Enjoy your teasers!

In her words…

1. How did he propose? “He took me on a date night around downtown Zionsville which involved walking around the parks, going to the winery, and then ended at the Lincoln Park gazebo where he got down on one knee and said ‘babe this is not a joke’ lol! We then went to the Salty Cowboy with our family to celebrate!”

2. What was your favorite wedding moment? “My favorite wedding moment was the bride and groom first look because he did actually cry!”

3. What was his favorite wedding moment? “His favorite wedding moment was also the first look because ‘you were pretty’ (his words lol)”

4. What was the funniest wedding moment? “The funniest wedding moment was our unity candles refusing to light and stay lit, oh well!”

5. What was your first dance song? “Our first dance song was ‘From This Moment On’ by Shania Twain”

6. What advice would you give to future couples? “Remember to enjoy the day and savor every moment, it doesn’t matter if things don’t go exactly right or you are running behind because at the end of the day you are marrying your best friend and that is all that matters!”
