Nicole + Jacob = Married!

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding/vow renewal last week at White Willow Farms! Their original plans were derailed by Covid so they had a very small wedding on their original wedding date last year and then had their big vow renewal/party on 5/28 this year. They had SO many gorgeous details for us to photograph, several of them had a lot of sentimental value! The necklace that Nicole wore is actually the diamond from her grandma’s engagement ring and after she passed away in 1988 her aunt had it made into a necklace. Nicole’s sister, Allison, wore it at her wedding too as her “Something Borrowed”. The handkerchief wrapped around her bouquet was also her grandma’s, she carried it on her wedding day on November 16, 1946, then Nicole’s mom carried it on her wedding day on June 30, 1984, then Allison had it wrapped around her bouquet for her wedding May 19, 2018 and then Nicole had it at her wedding on August 29, 2020 & also at her vow renewal. So awesome!

Nicole’s dress was so beautiful, I was glad she got to wear it twice. Not many people can say that! Mother Nature was playing tricks on us last weekend, it was unseasonably cold for May with high wind gusts…we got some great veil flying shots though, and we all made the best of it. I was just thankful that we were able to get some awesome outdoor photos of the bride, groom, and wedding party before the rain came. Her fabulous wedding planner moved everything inside in a hurry and we just kept on going with family photos before the ceremony. Instead of flower girls, they had “flower dudes” and the guys were a hit! Everyone was cracking up as they theatrically threw rose petals before Nicole and her dad walked down the aisle.

Their reception decor was beautiful and so perfect for the venue, and the evening was FULL of surprises! They surprised their guests with a popcorn bar, a dessert bar, AND a donut wall! To top it off, they even had a dog treat bar for the guests’ 4 legged friends, which was awesome. Nicole surprised Jacob with a very sweet poem and toasted to all law enforcement who were in attendance that evening. The DJ played “Peaceful Easy Feeling” which was Nicole’s parent’s first dance song and they danced with both of their daughters and their spouses, it was so sweet. The bride’s mom surprised them with big head photo cutouts, which made for some funny candid dancing shots late into the night! The night was topped off with their last dance song, “Time of my Life” where the DJ did the infamous Dirty Dancing lift right next to me! LOL In 27 years, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen! haha! It was such a fun and memorable night. Thank you to Nicole, Jacob & both of their families for being soooo awesome and so much fun to work with!!
