Our 5 year anniversary!

John & I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary the weekend before last (5/17) by taking the whole weekend off and booking a suite at the Westin downtown. 🙂 The coolest part was that we think we ended up with the same suite as our wedding night from five years ago, what's the chance of that?! 😀 We checked in on Friday night and had dinner downtown and came back to a surprise in our room…my dad knew we were staying there for the weekend and ended up surprising us by working with the concierge before our arrival to take care of our entire weekend stay and even had them add in some chocolate covered strawberries and goodies in our room! It was SO SWEET and unexpected!! (Thanks again dad!!) 😉

For our anniversary, John made me an incredible album of the first five years of our marriage together which featured all of the major events in our lives. He brought his laptop with him so that I could see the album spreads and make any changes – he's got some amazing design skills! 🙂 He totally made me cry when I realized what he did. Going through the last 5 years of my image CDs without me knowing is a huge feat in itself but aside from my dad making me an album from an awesome vacation we went on together when I was little, no one else has ever made me an album!

One of my gifts to John was from the famous Holy Cow, Cupcakes! He LOVES the "Erin" cupcake (of course) so I had Karen make enough Erin cupcakes to spell out "Happy Anniversary" and ones with our initials and the five year anniversary date. He loved them!

On Saturday afternoon, we saw this wedding party in carriages turning down towards the government center from our window view. (If this is your wedding, contact me! I'll email you the pics!) LOL 🙂

John made dinner reservations at my favorite Clay Terrace restaurant, Kincaid's. They have the absolute BEST chicken dijon dish that I've ever tasted in my life. 🙂

And Sunday morning before checking out, I took some pics of the fantastic view. It was such a gorgeous day outside!!
