August 2006

I love my clients! So many of them become great friends of ours and we end up seeing them year after year. They send their friends and family to us for weddings, portraits and special events and of course we run into them when we’re out and about. I love how appreciative they are for all of the hard work that we put into every event too. We take our jobs seriously because we want their wedding day to be totally perfect, but we also want them to remember to have a great time that day and to have fun with their pictures! Between all of the flowers, thank you cards and gifts we receive each year from our clients, I really love their testimonials.

We just received an e-mail from Molly, last Sunday’s bride and hopefully she won’t mind me sharing some of her e-mail here. 🙂 It was SO sweet!!

Erin,
Thank you so much!! I LOVE the collage and will definitely want to buy it. Thank you also for your kind words about our wedding and for capturing it so beautifully. I feel like you are my friend–you saw so clearly our vision for the wedding and helped us pull it off and I can’t believe we’ve only met a few times. Thank you, especially, for your patience and calmness with our rowdy and disorganized group! Your peaceful influence was much appreciated. We’d love to take you, John and Diana out to dinner sometime when we are in Indy again. Maybe when things slow down for you…if they ever do!??
Best,
Molly

Molly & Manny were married last Sunday at the Indianapolis Art Center. They went for a Mexican & Literature themed event and pulled it off perfectly! They blended their cultures and their love for literature and the arts by holding the ceremony & reception at the IAC with a majority of the reception tables in the library room. They made placemats out of the groom’s manuscripts, gave books as favors to their guests and even had old-fashioned type writers for the “guest book” upon arrival.

They had a mariachi band playing during the ceremony and part of the reception, they served Mexican food for dinner and the groom’s father is a musician who performed for them after the toasts. Everything was gorgeous and so unique. It was such a special night and we were SO glad to be a part of the event, I love themed weddings! 🙂

Jennifer & John were married last Saturday at the Sagamore Club in Noblesville. It was a beautiful venue and everyone looked gorgeous too! Karen Hall & Co. did a great job with everyone’s hair & make-up and Chuck Eaglin from Allisonville Nursery did a fabulous job with the flowers and decor! I loved all of the creative touches they included in the wedding, like the personalized golf tees as their favors, the blue flip flops that she made for her bridesmaids and the beautiful angel wings for the flower girl.

What I’ve really loved lately is how much COLOR everyone is putting into their weddings nowadays! It seems that bright colors are really “in” this season and the more color variations you put into your wedding, the more the color “pops” in pictures. LOVE it!! 🙂

Before we left for our vacation, we photographed Jennifer & Toby’s wedding at the Scottish Rite Cathedral with their reception at the Embassy Suites. They were such an adorable couple! His best man was actually one of our previous grooms so it was neat to see some familiar faces throughout the day. 🙂 They had a fun wedding party, and all of the girls were even up for a quick dip in the fountain across the street from the cathedral that hot July day!

I’m a little behind in posting on here since we’ve been on vacation and still trying to get caught up but we had a BLAST in one of my favorite places in the whole world, Sanibel Island. For the last 3 years, we’ve gone with my family to the island, which is on the Gulf of Mexico and rented a condo on the beach. There are so many fun things you can do there, John even went parasailing this time! If you enjoy shelling, shopping, fine dining, beautiful sunsets, and beautiful scenery, you should definitely consider going there for vacation. I’ve attached some pics from our excursions…
Me & John (one of my favorites of course….) 🙂

Here’s one from the dolphin watch cruise…there were 5 or 6 of them that put on a show for us, maybe they knew they’d be famous on my website? LOL I wonder if they ever landed on each other though as they were doing flips?

Ft. Myers Beach before John went parasailing…

These guys were hilarious! We arrived a few days after the rest of the family since we had a wedding to photograph so I didn’t see everything that happened but my dad said they pulled up to the Lazy Flamingo one night (a popular restaurant on the island) and there was a raccoon that jumped on top of the dumpster and laid on his back and rubbed his belly like he was full from his “dinner”…LOL We went back a few times during the trip to watch them, there were about a dozen of them in all that would help themselves to leftovers each night. They were very tame and would walk right up to the car to see if you had brought them food. I’m sure the locals feed them!

Look for her on American Idol next season! On the plane from Ft. Myers to Atlanta, one of the passengers got up and sang for all of us. She did a fabulous job singing “Black Velvet” and if she sings that song, I’m sure they’ll send her to Hollywood. She was on her way to the auditions!
