Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!! John & I took my sisters with us to volunteer at the Mozel Sanders charity food delivery program the night before Thanksgiving and their entire set-up was AMAZING. I can’t imagine feeding 30,000 people in a day but they manage to get it all done thanks to thousands of volunteers and contributions. John was up to his eyeballs in green beans and my sisters and I bagged rolls all night. After I filled a huge box with food, I sat back and thought of the magnitude of their operation and how SO many people would have a great Thanksgiving because of what everyone was doing that evening. It’s hard to comprehend all of it actually. One guy told us that it used to take them 2 weeks to prepare all of the food and now, with the help of their volunteers, they’re able to get it all done in 2-3 days which is incredible. Huge trucks and limousines pulled up at Butler early yesterday morning to begin hauling everything out to their pick up and delivery sites. It was cool to be a part of something so incredible and we all had a great time! 🙂
