January 2007

We just received the sweetest e-mail from Julie, one of our brides from last year:

“Hi Erin! We received our album and it is AMAZING! Thank you so much for all of your hard work not only for the day we had you but also for all of the creativity and time taken to edit and create the album of our dreams!!! We knew you were an angel the day of the wedding but I’m sure no one (including myself) can begin to appreciate the endless hours you spend on clients after the big day. Thank you a million times! We can’t wait to show our album to all of our friends and family and to look back upon it year after year to help keep the memory of the day alive!
Sincerely,
Julie (& Brian)”

That made my night. 🙂

Last Friday, we photographed Adrianne & Elliott’s wedding at the State House downtown and their reception at the Garrison at Ft. Ben. This couple had the cutest love story…they actually met back in 3rd grade. They were in the same class and he would chase her around the playground. When Elliott proposed to her last year, he took her back to that school late at night and proposed to her at the same playground. (Reminds me of that George Strait song, “Check Yes or No”) 🙂 She saved the Valentine’s Day card he gave her in 3rd grade and we photographed it in her bouquet as the beginning of their wedding story.

Their families were so sweet and fun to be with all day and they had a military style exit complete with swordsmen and sparklers before getting onto the limo bus headed to the reception. We had the chance to work with Bob Ridge from Indy Visual again (who we hired to do our wedding back in 2003) and loved working with him!! He’s so easy going and I noticed us getting similar documentary style shots throughout the day, I know their video is going to be awesome!

After Christmas, we booked a room at the Westin for a few days. It was nice to get caught up on some sleep after the busy holidays. 🙂 Above is a shot of the sunrise over St. John’s downtown one morning. And here’s the Convention Center, where we’ll be this weekend for the big bridal show….
The Westin’s Christmas tree in the lobby…shot from the 2nd floor.
And a view from our room…looks like they did away with the fountain in front of the Westin when they built the new Simon building. 🙁 We used to do a lot of engagement sessions there.

After the busiest December season we’ve EVER had in the history of our business, we decided to take a few much needed days off! 😀 We stayed up wrapping gifts until 2 a.m. Christmas morning which was fun but tiring of course…we knew December would be busy with album orders, reprints, weddings, etc. so we actually started our shopping in October last year, can you believe it?! LOL So yeah, there were tons of gifts to wrap as you can imagine. Here are a few fun pics from Christmas…

Dad opened our card to their dog, Mickey….he matched the card! LOL
Here’s my mom’s new puppy Mandy (above) and the new pink coat we bought her for Christmas…she was way more interested in using it as a blanket to lay on though. 🙂
Dad had Classic Cakes make one of their famous peppermint cakes for Christmas which was a big hit with everyone!
And here’s one of my favorite ornaments from our Christmas tree…John & I have a gorgeous victorian themed Christmas tree and he puts up with all of the pink I put on it. LOL (my favorite color….)
