Indy Heart Surgeon Recommendations?

As some of you know, I spent the last few days with my grandparents…my grandma was scheduled for a heart cath this week and unfortunately the news was not good. She’s in need of a quadruple bypass soon and we are now looking for recommendations and ratings for the best heart surgeons in Indy so that she can go in for another consultation ASAP. I know that a lot of people follow my blog but may not have seen this story on my facebook page, so I thought I’d post it here too, (which will also post to Twitter) just to see if anyone has had any personal experiences they can share or doctors they can recommend in Indy or Carmel?

My dad just had a couple procedues done…his Dr. was Dr. Obeidat down at Methodist downtown. He was a great Dr. and he didn’t give up at all, even when there were complications and had everything done perfectly!

My friend, Jan Bradley, that works hand in hand with the surgeons implanting pacemakers for a living highly recommends Dr. David Heimansohn, MD – 10590 N Meridian, Suite 150 – 317-338-3333 (Jan actually is a patient of his so that gave him even higher marks in my opinion!!) or Dr. John Schier, MD at the same number. Both are cardiothoracic surgeons.

I’m sure this is hard on your mom…please give her a hug from Brad and I!!!

    Hope this helps!!

Without question, the very very best in town… Dr. Hermiller. He’s at the Heart Center and St. V’s and is absolutely the very best skilled and the best mannerred, too! My mom’s lived through a lot of surgeries and come out beautifully through her progressive heart disease. He is absolutely a miracle worker!! Prayers for you and yours…

I almost mentioned this on FB the other day. Your best bets for great cardiac care are at The Heart Center (St. V’s) at 106th and Meridian or Methodist. I personally prefer The Heart Center as we’ve dealt with them a lot with my step-father. I will sent you an e-mail (or note on FB) with more info. I’d rather not post too much info on here b/c of my job.
