May 2009

Last week we photographed Lauren & Evan’s engagement session at the monument downtown – where they actually GOT engaged!! I think it was cool for them to go back to that very spot where she said yes! 🙂 Now they’re planning an awesome New Year’s Eve wedding and we can’t wait!

Aren’t they adorable together?! 🙂 I LOVE her smile…wow…

And her blue eyes just pop in the pics!!

Love it! …a perfect heart…

After we walked around the monument, they told me that they had dinner at McCormick & Schmick’s right down the street on the night they got engaged…so they asked if we could take a few pics over there and of course I said SURE!! But along the way, we found this awesome alley and took some cool urban looking pics…

LOVE this one!!!!

And this one….

Awwww 🙂

Thanks for a fun time that night you guys!! Can’t wait for your wedding!! 🙂

Earlier this week, we photographed my aunt’s kennel, Canine Retreat in Westfield. Many of you have heard me talk about her awesome kennel and her love of dogs but if you haven’t checked out her website, go check it out now!! 🙂 Canine Retreat is an upscale dog boarding facility located on 8.5 acres in Westfield…each suite is extremely spacious, contains a toddler bed for each furry guest, and elevated water bowls for taller four legged friends. 😉

Here’s Mickey resting comfortably on her bed in the suite…

The suites are big enough that John & I were both in them to shoot on several occasions! Here he is loving on James…

He’s like a big teddy bear!! 🙂

Rudy has such an adorable face!!

Doesn’t it look like Sheeka is saying “please…no more photos!” LOL!!

Everyone loves Aunt Mary!!! 🙂

I couldn’t decide whether I liked the nose in focus better or the eyes so you get to see both…. 😉

Here’s Logan, an adorable cocker spaniel who is SO sweet!! I wanted to take him home!! 🙂

FAVORITE!!!

Look at all of the happy guests!! 🙂

Aunt Mary is bonding with James…he loves to have his belly rubbed and will actually put his paw up for more, isn’t that cute?!

LOL Loved this one!!

Meet Hook, another adorable greyhound!

He’s so beautiful!!

I love how happy all of her 4 legged guests are when they’re at the Retreat! She actually has clients who drive from out of state just to leave their pets with her while they go on vacation and stuff like that because the dogs are so content in her care. She’s developed an awesome following!! If you are going on a honeymoon or vacation and don’t know where to leave your pets, check out her website and give her a call ASAP. She only has 10 suites so she books up quickly!

Last weekend we photographed Jackie & Jason’s wedding & reception in Plainfield…we started at the new Cambria Suites for their dressing room photos. When I walked into the suite, I saw these fabulous shoes just waiting to be photographed!! 🙂 Aren’t they FUN!?

Every wedding has a funny or cute story about something that happens on the big day…well, we all got a good laugh out of the adorable flower girl that day! 🙂 When no one was watching, she picked up the phone and called the police without realizing it!

Next thing we know, there’s a knock on the door by this guy! LOL He just wanted to make sure we were all ok since he was called to the scene! Pretty funny, huh?! ;p

After everyone was ready, we headed over to Friendship Gardens for some beautiful outdoor photos!! Here’s our gorgeous bride…

And our handsome groom….

I LOVE that huge gazebo at the gardens, it makes for some great fisheye shots!

Jason had on cool shoes too so I knew that a cool shoe shot was definitely in order! 🙂

Kathy’s Kloset provided her flowers and they looked amazing!!

BUBBLES!! My view….

And Diana’s view….

Loved this one!

The reception site looked AMAZING!! Pipe + drape + cool uplighting + chair covers + full length colored linens = my favorite room shots!! 🙂 Julie & Alicia of JA Alexandra were her coordinators and they did such a fantastic job the whole day…everything looked amazing and they were so nice and fun to work with!

I absolutely ADORED these centerpieces! Orchids seem to be a really hot flower this year, has anyone else noticed that?! Love it!

Gorgeous cake from Indy Cakes!! (And it was SO YUMMY too…I had the orange flavored layer and WOW!!)

I LOVED the damask table runner on their sweetheart table! Chair Covers & Linens as well as Evans AV did a fantastic job transforming the room…

A little bubbly to go along with the toasts…

Mark Allam from Sound Spectrum Entertainment did a great job too…I loved his lighting, music & personality!

Ahhh! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this silhouette of them…I hope they order a canvas print of it because it would look FANTASTIC on the wall as a huge canvas!

And a little sunset light to top off our evening…

Thanks for a great time you guys!! More pics coming soon! 🙂

Since we’ve taken a lot of photos at family functions and networking events over the past week, I thought I’d just combine them all into one blog post just for fun! 🙂 We’ll start off with my sister’s National Honor Society induction ceremony…we were recently notified that she got into NHS and we’re so proud of her! John and I were both in NHS (way back when) 😉 so the candle ceremony and speeches were very reminiscent of our NHS induction ceremonies!

Here’s Mary and her good friend Rose – congrats girls!! 🙂

Mary & dad posing together for photos afterwards…

Then a few days later, we did a quick shoot for my friend Tammy who works for Elite Management Services, Inc. They provide valet services for many of the top restaurants in Indy as well as valet parking solutions for weddings, corporate meetings, private parties and special events! ISES held their annual Business Brilliance event downtown last week and her company was there to provide valet for all of us event professionals…

Even John and my car made it into a shot for her! LOL 🙂

These guys were so nice and fun to shoot!! 🙂

Then yesterday we celebrated Mother’s Day with my mom and grandma! (The next 4 images were taken with the “purse camera”) 😉 Here’s mom’s dog Mandy…isn’t she adorable?!?

Mandy decided she wanted to help her open her gifts! LOL

Mom & Grandma together… Happy Mother’s Day!! 🙂

Grandma & Grandpa together at Texas Roadhouse!! We had so much fun with everyone yesterday, thanks for a great time you guys! XOXO

On 5/2, we photographed Jennifer & Kevin’s gorgeous wedding at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church (where John & I got married almost 6 years ago!!) 🙂 and their reception at the Skyline Club. The weather was perfect, the couple looked amazing, their families were so nice and the decor was GORGEOUS…seriously, I think this is the most amount of decor photos I’ve ever posted from one wedding thanks to their amazing florist Coby Palmer!! 🙂 Hannah & Pat of Social Butterfly were flown in from LA to help with the day of coordination for the event…everything was just amazing!

LOVED her shoes…

Amazing bouquets…

Here’s our handsome groom, Kevin…

I LOVED Jennifer’s dress and all of the details…

Jennifer’s dad & step-mom together…such a sweet couple!

Few ceremony photos…

Jen with all of the flower girls…so cute!

Awww…

Elizabeth had an idea to shoot low on the cross and it looked amazing! I love it how my staff and I just feed ideas off of each other all of the time, the creative juices just ooze out!! 🙂

The evening light in the main sanctuary always looks amazing!!

Check out the bling!

Jennifer was such a beautiful bride!!

HOT!!! 🙂

Off to the Skyline Club!

When we tried to get in, the doors were locked so we walked down to the parking garage…

and as I was getting these shots, the wind picked up and her veil started flying, it was awesome!

Then we found some amazing warm overhead lights in the parking garage to do a few more hot shots…

Then we walked into their gorgeous reception…check out all of the decor! WOW  WOW  WOW!!

The view from the Skyline Club is SO awesome…

They were headed to Hawaii for their honeymoon so it made sense to incorporate some beautiful purple orchids into the centerpieces…

Gorgeous monogrammed cake from Sweet Seductions!

Introduced into the reception…

They’re both wine connoisseurs so Kevin actually bought some amazing wines for their reception…had to get those in some pics. 😉

Daddy’s little girl 🙂

First dance…

I loved the natural sunlight in the Skyline Club…sooooo pretty!!

Cool ring shots for our wine connoisseurs!! 🙂

Downtown Indy at night…

Yeah, check out the details at night!! WOW!

Then we took a few street shots before they hopped in their carriage and headed to the Conrad!

Hope you guys are enjoying Hawaii!! 🙂 More pics coming soon!!
