July 2011

On 6/4, we photographed Jeanne & Josh’s beautiful wedding at St. Paul Catholic Center & reception at Alumni Hall at the Indiana Memorial Union in Bloomington! Artful Blooms did a great job on her bouquet! Melissa Conk & Crystal Bare of Totally You in Greensburg did an awesome job on Jeanne’s hair & make-up too…doesn’t Jeanne have the prettiest red hair?! Love it! 🙂

Josh was SO cute! He was so excited to say his vows…adorable!

YAY!!

Lots of bubbles!!

We stopped by a few special places on campus for some photos that day…

The official bouquet holder! LOL

They are so cute together!!

The reception site looked STUNNING!! Seriously, we were in awe when we walked in. Hannah Trowbridge from Social Butterfly was their event coordinator and she did a great job on all of the decor, coordination and set-up. Hannah, you ROCK! 🙂

She created this ribbon chandelier as the centerpiece for the room! Isn’t it amazing?!

It looked like a firework when you stood under it! 🙂

Loved their gold accented decor and details…

Favorite! 🙂

The whole room looked amazing, it was magical!

And of course, a ring shot!! 🙂

Thanks for a fun time that day, hundreds and hundreds more photos coming soon! 🙂

We recently did a photo shoot for wedding planner, Jennifer Tornatta. She wanted some updated marketing photos to use for her business and she went with a french boutique, blue & purple themed photo shoot. She brought along great details & decor, including these fun shoes for our model, Tiffany, to wear during the shoot! 🙂

Tiffany was such a great model to work with that day and Karen Hall & Company did a fabulous job on her hair & make-up!! 🙂

Chuck Eaglin from Meridian Floral Design & Events provided the gorgeous florals!

We LOVE D’Amore!!! Where else can you get amazing floor to ceiling windows with amazing window light and awesome views of the city?!?! STUNNING!! If you’re hosting any kind of party or event, you MUST check out their space!

A special thanks goes out to Nancy’s Bridal for allowing us to borrow this Watters dress for the shoot! 🙂

Jennifer came up with this adorable dessert buffet design! Loved it! The Connie Duglin linens were perfect for this table!

Lilly Lane provided the flower balls for the dessert table…

Heavenly Sweets did an amazing job on the cake!

Holy Cow, Cupcakes did a great job on the cupcake display!

Candy = ring shot! 🙂

Loved the details…

I loved this table design, it was so beautiful! Jen, you rock!

Jen did an amazing job pinning all of the linens to have that draped effect – WOW!! Wildflower Linens were the perfect choice for this table!

Promo photo! 🙂

Having some fun at the end of the shoot…. 😉

Thanks for a fun time that day! Lots of pics coming soon! 🙂

I’m so behind on blogging, but I promise, it’s only because we’ve been SUPER busy shooting weddings lately! LOL Tons of new fun shots will hit the blog in the coming weeks for sure! 😉 I wanted to get caught up on some non-wedding editing this week though, which includes some “just for fun” shots that we took at D’Amore Monday night. Watching the fireworks from their venue was AMAZING!!!!! Thank you to all of our friends at D’Amore & Thomas Caterers for a great night full of fun, friends, food & fireworks! 🙂

Amazing hospitality, as always. 🙂

I loved this silhouette!!

The sunset was gorgeous that night!!

Check out that view! WOW…

Thanks for a great time everyone!! 🙂

Oh boy, I have LOTS of blogging to do this week! We’ve been SO BUSY shooting lately…’tis the season!! 🙂 On 5/31, we photographed this adorable couple, Becky & Veso, in downtown Indy. We did what I like to call the “traveling shoot” where we met up at one location and then drove around downtown to any cool spots that were photo-worthy, hopped out of the car, took a few pics and then continued driving. I think we got a lot of neat shots and definitely a good variety for them! 🙂 We started at the Starbucks on Mass Ave… they are so cute!

Bling, bling, she got the ring!! 🙂 (Veso, you did good!!!)

Veso sings and plays guitar, so we had him perform for her! I love how happy he makes Becky. 🙂

Love 🙂

We found some really cool old doors and truck loading docks to utilize in their photos…loved this one!

Becky had the cow girl look going on for a few photos! 🙂

FAVORITE!!! The light streaming in behind them was gorgeous!

I think I found a new favorite set of Kubota actions! 🙂 I LOVE how industrial this looks. They were total pros at the dip & kiss!! 🙂

Thanks for a fun time you guys!! LOTS more pics coming soon! 🙂

Last week, we were featured in the International Special Events Society (ISES) Indiana chapter’s newsletter! Here is a recap of the interview in case you missed it! 😉

What is your title and position at your current company? Owner of Erin Hession Photography in Carmel, Indiana.

What does your company do? How is it different than others like it? We specialize in fun, artistic wedding photography and we truly go above and beyond for every client. For example, we provide vendor recommendations and custom photo schedules to our clients, we bring an emergency kit with us on the day of the event in case of any mishaps, we provide cold bottled waters for our bride & groom during their photo sessions and we even print a folio of images at the reception, which they can take with them on their honeymoon!

How many years have you been in the industry? 17 years

What was your very first job? My passion has always been photography; I actually photographed my first wedding at the age of 14! I built my portfolio and website while studying photography, art & marketing throughout high school and college. By the time I graduated college, I had built a successful full-time photography company!

What lead you in into the event industry? I love photographing people in love, so weddings were a natural choice!

Why did you decide to join ISES? I enjoy networking with other event professionals and following the trends in our industry.

What is your most memorable event? Why? Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to photograph a 5K event for one of our past clients who is suffering from cystic fibrosis. Despite her illness, double pneumonia and 50% lung capacity that day, she crossed the finish line with her walker and dropped to her knees thanking God for the chance to be an athlete for a day. I felt so honored to be there to capture all of those emotions for her and it was one of those moments that make you remember how important our jobs are as photographers. She and her family will have those photos from one of her greatest accomplishments forever.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you? My husband and I actually went to daycare together! We reconnected in high school and got married after college. We’ve been happily married for over 8 years now and he’s amazing husband, web developer and photographer.

If you were not in the event industry, what would be your dream job? I can’t imagine not being in the event industry, I feel like I’m lucky to have found my dream job already!
