August 2012

Last year we had a fun photo shoot up near Chicago, we stayed at The Wit Hotel in the heart of downtown and we had a great time! After shooting 7 (yes, SEVEN!) weddings in June this year, we were ready for a mini vacay but we didn’t have a ton of time available in between weekend shoots! We were thankful for a 4 day/3 night mini getaway in July which allowed us to take a little break and go play for a few days! 🙂 Even though it wasn’t a long vacation, I wanted to do it up right ~ so I upgraded us to a nice suite at The Wit & called up Sprinkles cupcakes and had them deliver cupcakes to our suite before our arrival. 😉 John was so surprised, he loved it! We enjoyed vegging out with Gino’s East pizza on the first night then we went to Water Tower shops and the Skydeck Ledge on the 2nd day. (And no, it wasn’t as scary as it looks!) We came back after a long day of shopping & sightseeing and found a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room (from my dad, step-mom & sisters) which was so sweet!! The next day we conquered the Shedd Aquarium! They had a very cool jelly fish exhibit going on and I realized how much I ADORE otters!! All in all, it was a great mini trip and I hope to do something fun like that with my hubby again soon!!!

On 7/8, we did a quick little mini session with Jessica & Marcus at the Village of West Clay so that they could send out their save the dates ASAP! 🙂 They’ll be making another appearance on the blog this Fall when we do their “real” session next month at Holcomb Gardens! 😉 I still wanted to post a few faves from their first shoot though! Oh and check out that shot in front of the fountain, they’re AMAZING dancers!!

Our friends at D’Amore invited us to view the fireworks from their venue again this year! It’s our favorite thing to do on the 4th of July!!! 🙂 Of course, I had to bring a camera to get a few awesome shots of the fireworks…there is no better view in the city than on top of the Chase tower! Thank you to our friends at Thomas Caterers and D’Amore for the invite, we always enjoy hanging out with all of you!! (Brides, if you’re still looking for a fabulous caterer or reception venue, check them out!!)

On 6/30 we photographed Natalie & Kyle’s wedding at Meridian Street United Methodist Church and their fabulous reception at Riverwalk! They were so cute together & they had a fabulous wedding party that was up for anything, even a stop in Broadripple for shots at Chumley’s before the reception! 😉 I ADORED their reception details, like the fingerprint “sign in” tree, the yummy purple & green candy buffet and their gorgeous cake! No details were missed, they even had flip flops so that their guests could dance comfortably all night! 🙂 Loved it!!

On 6/23 we photographed Kari & John’s beautiful wedding & reception at The Mansion at Oak Hill. I adored her “pink & bling” shoes and all of their fun details and decor that day! Kari & John are such a sweet, adorable couple together! They are definitely made for one another. 🙂 They had a fun choreographed first dance, a fondue bar at the end of the night and bridesmaids who were willing to do an awesome sparkler shot for us!! (Thank you ladies!!) 🙂 It’s definitely one of my favorites!!
