October 2012

On 9/22 we photographed Chris & Lauren’s beautiful wedding & reception at Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station! We LOVE shooting there! There were so many beautiful details to photograph and her dress was GORGEOUS! I have to say, that B&W shot of her dress hanging up is one of my all time faves! 🙂 To top it off, Lauren definitely looks like she could be a model ~ love that! The Illinois Street Ballroom looked amazing that day & her flowers were stunning! I loved the pink uplighting that Mark Beecher provided and the photo booth added so much fun to the night. They also had personalized take home boxes for guests to take home extra cake at the end of the night, what a great idea. The best part was seeing Lauren’s reaction when I gave her the preview folio at the end of the event, that’s definitely my favorite part of the whole day, her reaction was priceless! 🙂 Thanks for a fun time that day, more pics coming soon! 🙂

On 9/15, we shot one of the most amazing weddings of our entire career!! I have sooooo many photos to share with all of you from this event, I’m in love with all of their details, theme, color scheme, everything!! Kim & Peter were married at Carmel Lutheran Church and held their reception at the Central Library that day but what was so incredibly cool was their 1950’s theme that they incorporated into their event. Kim had an amazing dress with a bird cage veil, fabulous shoes, an AMAZING team of vendors, lots of fun photo ideas, super cool decor and lighting, stunning and unique flowers, a vintage car to go along with their theme, an awesome confetti exit, fun props for photos, a retro candy buffet with yummy bon bons, a gorgeous reception table set up complete with white chiavari chairs and rosette tie backs & the coolest centerpieces I’ve ever seen!! To top that off, they even incorporated a vintage cake topper table from all of their past family weddings and had the venue transform the bar into a 1950’s diner complete with old vinyl records, vintage coke bottles, signs & bar stools. The wait staff even wore the 1950’s server hats to complete the look, it totally looked legit! 🙂

I’ve never seen so much thought and time go into an event before in my life and I LOVED it, Kim & her parents really had an amazing vision for the event & A Touch of Elegance pulled it off flawlessly, as always! Everywhere we turned, there was something awesome to photograph that day!! They had a fun photo booth, a signature drink, an AMAZING cake & groom’s cake and sliders and french fries for their late night snacks. It was truly an awesome event and to top it off, it was for a great family who we’ve worked with several times before (we photographed their friend’s wedding, their family pics & did a couple’s shoot for the mother & father of the bride) so it felt more like we were shooting an event for a close friend since we knew so many of their friends and family that day. Kim & Peter are SO adorably cute together and were a blast to photograph and I truly felt lucky to be a part of this amazing event along with these other amazing vendors!

A few weeks ago, we met up with Grace & Matt and their adorable dog, Bailey, at the monument for their engagement photos! They are a super cute couple and Bailey just added to their cuteness!! 🙂 Grace is a Colts fan & Matt is a Bears fan so they even brought their jerseys (and they had jerseys for Bailey) for some photos at the end, I loved it!! Thanks for a fun time you guys!

Our sweet kitty, Mr. Wiggles, turned 13 this week!! I can’t believe it’s been 13 years since I rescued him; he fit in the palm of my hand when I found him. 🙂 He’s so sweet, he gives kisses on command, he runs to you when you snap your fingers and he likes to play “spa kitty” every morning. I’m convinced that he doesn’t know he’s a cat!! LOL! Here he is posing for a few birthday photos and checking out some new toys. 🙂 Happy Birthday sweet kitty!!

Most of you know our sweet Golden, Buddy. He is such a funny dog, he LOVES bubbles and he loves to catch them and bite at them. This week, we celebrated Mr. Wiggles’ 13th b-day (our cat ~ another blog post coming soon) and we bought him these pet friendly bubbles. We thought he’d love them, but apparently, he was scared of them (luckily we had catnip gifts as well!) 🙂 but Buddy decided he wanted to play with them instead. It was adorable…here are the photos from the craziness that followed!
