August 2013

On 8/11, my dad, sisters and I pulled off a surprise party for my step-mom’s 60th birthday! Our whole family helped with set-up and kept up with the undercover story that my sisters were going to take Kitty out for lunch and manicures while the rest of us managed to pull off the set-up of cake, flowers, food, drinks, photo booth & a DVD slideshow in a short timeframe. By the time they got back, set-up was complete, cars were hidden and 50 of her closest friends & family members were in the living room yelling, “Surprise!!” The look on her face was priceless! At the end of the night, we had one more surprise for her. All of her friends and family (and some people who wanted to attend but were unable to) wrote letters to her that included special memories and things they’ve experienced together over the years. Needless to say, I think it was her best birthday ever! Thank you to everyone who helped pull it off & make it an awesome party!! 🙂

On 6/15, we photographed Jennifer & Jeremy’s awesome wedding & reception! They are one of those adorable couples who fit perfectly together and have been dating for so long that you just know it’s a match made in heaven. I don’t think there was a dry eye during their ceremony. I mentioned that during post-wedding formals and one of the groomsmen said, “Yeah, no one gets out of here without shedding a tear!” LOL! It became a joke as several people handed Jen some Kleenex during the ceremony, it made for a sweet & memorable wedding, that’s for sure!! Since they’re from Washington, we met them for the first time on the wedding day after several calls and emails during the planning process. They were so sweet and I knew we’d all have a great time together that day. I LOVED her dress, their confetti exit & the fun surprise choreographed first dance that they did for their guests, it was so fun!! Thanks for a great time that day, more pics coming soon!! 🙂

It’s been a busy month of birthdays within our family already and we have even more coming up soon! 🙂 Last week, we celebrated John’s 29th birthday on 8/7 with a trip to the Indiana State Museum to see the Star Wars exhibit, followed by a family birthday dinner at La Piedad’s, Holy Cow Cupcakes, an overnight at the Renaissance together, and what was supposed to be a day at the fair. The weather didn’t hold up for us so that got postponed to this week and we went to Tuttles instead. 😉 John had a great time, to say the least!! Happy Birthday John, I love you!!

On Sunday, 6/9 we photographed Meagan & Mitch’s fabulous wedding & reception at Mavris! Meagan is a lover of all things bling (like me!) so I was super excited to shoot not only their wedding but all of the details that I knew would be gorgeous! I loved all of her jewelry, her dress, centerpieces, cake topper & even her rhinestone flip flops for the reception! 🙂 They are such an adorable couple together and you can tell that they truly adore each other. Thanks for a fun time you guys!!
