August 2018

We photographed Betsy and Gus several years ago when Gus was just a puppy so when Betsy emailed me recently about doing a mini session for some updated head shots, I was glad to hear her say she wanted some updated puppy pics too!! He’s just a big puppy now! 🙂 Gus is so lovable, he’s like a teddy bear!! Thanks for a fun mini session! 🙂

A few weeks ago, we met up with Juliet & her aunt at The Village of West Clay to shoot Juliet’s senior photo session! She was so much fun to photograph and she’s just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. (Seriously, don’t you think she should be a model?! WOW!!) 🙂 Thanks for a fun time that day, more pics coming soon! 🙂

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding in June and I was so excited to work with them AND their adorable dog, Zigi! Right after their first look, Zigi made an appearance for photos and he was so excited to see everyone, it was adorably cute! Their details were gorgeous that day too…the flowers, venue, doggy bag favors, decor, cupcakes, custom cake topper…they thought of everything! They even choreographed their first dance, it was so sweet! Thanks for a great time that day you guys!! 🙂

Vendors:

 In Agnes’ words…

1.      How did he propose? “In the most romantic way ever. For our 5 year anniversary he planned a surprise getaway to West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick, IN. A couple months prior to our getaway, two of my bridesmaids at the time had just gotten engaged. So naturally, I started to get anxious that it was never gonna happen for me. Tyler kept reassuring me that it wasn’t the right time, we were still young and only a couple years out of college and wanted to do it right. I agreed and that was that. So when he took me away on this magical weekend I thought nothing out of the ordinary because it would be just like him to plan an extravagant weekend for a milestone anniversary. Mind you, I had no idea where we were going so when we pulled up to one of the grandest hotels I’d ever seen, you could imagine my surprise! We had such a lovely time– he reserved a gorgeous suite, we went on a historic tour of the grounds, feasted like kings, and he lavished me with an amazing and relaxing spa day. Unbeknownst to me, sending me away for a spa day was his way of ironing out all of the details for what was to come… That night, we had an amazing dinner and had the idea of walking the grounds at night. We stepped outside and happened upon a horse-drawn carriage right at the building. I’m not sure if I was just clueless or if Tyler just really played it THAT cool, because he had had this night planned for months (he told me after the fact). We get in the carriage and ride around the grounds at sunset and stopped at a pretty hill overlooking a scenic view of the woods and horizon for a picture. As I was heading back to the carriage, Tyler grabbed me, turned me back around, and started going down on one knee and I’m fairly certain I blacked out from shock. In fact, he had a beautiful monologue practiced for me that I made him repeat later because I was too overwhelmed to hear what he said LOL. He took so much effort and care into planning the perfect weekend for me, and kept the surprise quite well hidden until the very moment he asked me to marry him! I’m a very lucky lady to have a man do all of this for me. He continues to surprise me in only the best ways and, yes this will sound gushy, I’m so glad I get to share my life’s journey with him.” 🙂

2.      What was your favorite wedding moment? “Our first look. Although it was a private moment, I can say that I will never forget the look in his eyes and those words he spoke the moment he saw me.” <3

3.      What was his favorite wedding moment?  “My favorite wedding moment was turning around to see you for the first time. That’s when it was real to me. Before that I was in a surreal mindset and that moment overwhelmed me with emotion like I’ve never felt before.”

4.      What was the funniest wedding moment? “One of our friends is quite skilled at break dancing. He doesn’t like to do it often, but as a wedding gift to us he whipped out the moves for one night. Well, he should have kept those moves tucked away because he ended up splitting his pants right down the center as he was dancing and we got it all on multiple devices: you name it: phones, cameras, video recorders– we have multiple copies. It was absolutely hilarious but he took it like a champ!”

5.      What was your first dance song? “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King

6.      Where are you going on your honeymoon? “Italy! Most amazing trip we’ve ever taken!”

7.      What advice would you give to future couples? “Plan early, don’t procrastinate, read reviews and do your homework prior to meeting with vendors because it’ll save you time. Also, don’t forget to enjoy it… You’re only getting married once (hopefully) and you don’t want to look back on your wedding regretting how stressed or annoyed or whatever you were. Whatever mishaps may occur, remember they’re not worth the stress, because at the end of the day you get to marry your best friend in the world and have the most amazing party afterward! Everything works out as it should, so don’t sweat the small stuff. Just enjoy your day and take in every moment, because it really goes by in a flash.” (I couldn’t agree more!!) 🙂
