May 2007

On Sunday, my dad and step-mom told my sisters where we’re headed for this year’s family vacation and we’re all SO excited! We’ll be heading to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a week long, all-inclusive stay on the beach. He booked everything through Hayley at Beach Bum Vacations, who has been fabulous to work with! If you’re looking for a great travel specialist or destination wedding expert, give her a call! For our anniversary, I’m treating John to a couple’s massage during sunset on the beach…very romantic. 🙂 I’m sure there will be TONS of pics to post on here after the trip. BTW, we’re also looking for a fun couple who is up for ANYTHING to do a trash the dress session while we’re there…if you’re interested, please e-mail me at [email protected]

Last Tuesday we photographed Karen & Jim’s wedding & reception at the Continental in downtown Indy. Karen & I have been friends for a LONG time and have done so many weddings together (she’s the Karen behind www.KarenHallandCo.com that I refer everyone to) so it was awesome to be able to photograph HER special day!! 🙂 Classic Cakes did a great job with her cake and Chuck from The Florist at Allisonville Nursery made her a great spring bouquet…and now our anniversaries are only 2 days apart, how cool is that? Jim joined the Army this year (some of you may have seen the tribute to him at the Convention Center Bridal Show in January before he left for boot camp) and now he’s back home for a little while before shipping out again, so last week was the perfect time for the two of them to tie the knot. Congratulations you guys, we love you!! 🙂

John just sent me this link to theindychannel.com's story about the popularity of 7/7/07 weddings this year…we've had so many calls and e-mails for that wedding date, it's crazy! LOL If I had 20 photographers working for me, I probably could've booked all of them for that day. I even heard on the news a few months ago about some girls in Chicago that were out looking for wedding dresses and planned to get married on that date, even though they don't even have a boyfriend yet. :O Yikes….

Most of you probably remember my previous recent posts about my aunt’s new addition to her family, Minnie. She fell ill this weekend very rapidly and they found out that she has a deadly form of cancer that has already spread to multiple organs. I feel so bad for my aunt Mary….her dogs are her children and she loves them all so much, just like we love our kitties. This afternoon, she had to make the hardest decision ever and Minnie will no longer live in her home but in her heart. She always says how much her furbabies love to be featured on my blog so today’s post is dedicated to Minnie. We love you Minnie!! Thank you for making our family so happy…
