April 2019

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding last month and we had a blast with them and their families! Of course, The Alexander Hotel is one of the coolest indoor art spaces that I ADORE so we started there for getting ready photos and wedding party pics! After that, we headed to the church, then Monument Circle for some chilly outdoor photos and then off to D’Amore for a fantastic reception! We had a FABULOUS vendor team that day and they had so many fun things for us to shoot…gorgeous details, beautiful flowers & uplighting, a custom donut hole wall and a fun photo booth! They are so cute together and it was an honor to capture their special day. Thanks for a fun time you guys, lots more pics coming soon!!

We photographed this sweet couple’s wedding in February at Scottish Rite Cathedral. Their day was beautiful but it certainly didn’t start off quite as planned! Rachel and her sister were on the way to the venue when they got in a horrible car accident that totaled her car. They were hit by another car & their air bags deployed but their angels were definitely looking out for them…they both walked away from the accident and were ok!! They dealt with the car situation, called the hair stylist and got to the venue a little shaken up, as you can imagine. After a few tears, lots of hugs and a hair redo, everything was back on track for a great day!!

Rachel had so many gorgeous details, we LOVED her adorable knee length dress, blingy shoes, and her handmade veil, it was stunning!! They got super lucky with the weather, it was a beautiful day for some gorgeous outdoor photos!! Rachel made some crocheted roses that were placed into her bouquet and Zach had a crocheted boutonniere which was really unique. They had a very small private ceremony in Tiler’s Room at Scottish Rite and then a big reception party in the South Lounge that night. Since it was Groundhog Day, they had custom made groundhogs for their cake topper, it was adorable!! After lots of dancing, they finished out the night with a sparkler exit on the front steps. 🙂 Thanks for a fun time you guys!!

In her words…

1.  How did he propose? Zach proposed at the cemetery where his mother is buried. We had been planning to go out and check on her headstone for a little while, so I wasn’t surprised when he suggested we take a trip out to see her. We were both a little teary, so we sat down on a bench and just cried together for a little bit, watching some hummingbirds flitting around the cemetery. I was shocked when he started fishing around in his pocket, and pulled out her engagement ring.
2. What was your favorite wedding moment? My favorite moment was when I saw Zach for the first time before the wedding. After the car accident, I was so shaken up, and I was so relieved to see him again, and know that he was alright.
3. What was his favorite wedding moment? “Seeing you coming down the aisle. I was pretty nervous until I saw you coming down the aisle.”- Zach
4. What was the funniest wedding moment? Zach gave the best man, officiant, and ring bearer pocket watches as a thank you present. Our ring bearer (5 years old) was exceptionally thrilled with his, and he spent the majority of the rehearsal and wedding showing it off to anyone who would look. He found several additional useful “functions” for the watch, like a stand-in toy racecar, twirling baton, etc. He would also proudly tell anyone the time, after asking his sister to read the watch.
5. What advice would you give to future couples? Don’t worry too much about the details of the day, because at the end of the day, you’ll be married, and that’s what counts.
6. Where did you go on your honeymoon? We went to St. Croix in the US Virgin islands.
