We had an outdoor wedding with horrible weather. Despite all of the rain and a water logged camera, I still had amazing pictures!

Erin is such a great listener and gives the best suggestions on how to make your wedding everything it can possibly be. She has done my wedding, my anniversary, my kids, my service dog and much more. She is not only an awesome awesome photographer she is a nice sincere person!! As they would say in the south “she is good people”. Very shortly after my wedding my grandmother was dying and she got a photo of me and my grandma done early so I could give it to her before she died. That is just the person Erin is. Full of talent and heart and you just can’t find that out there these days. She could charge three times the amount and still be worth EVERY PENNY!! I would not have anyone else do my photography. She captures the story of the day not just the line up and that was important to me. She was also willing to listen to ideas I had as well of what I wanted from my wedding and what was sentimental to me. I just can’t say enough about Erin except she is doing more photos for me this week!! I just keep going back!!! She always takes her time and is never in a hurry she makes sure everything is perfect!! Way to go Erin!!!

Portrait Sessions
As most of you know, we tend to book a TON of portrait sessions in the Fall and it gets so booked up very quickly! We have a few spots open in July & August though if anyone out there wants to beat the rush?! 🙂 We have a 4 p.m. opening for this Sunday, and a 3 p.m. & 5 p.m. opening for 8/3. We also have one Saturday open between now and November which is 8/30 so if you’d like to do your session on a Saturday, we’re taking bookings for that date! (A very rare opportunity for you!) 😉 We also have a few openings during the weekday evenings here and there. As it gets closer to Fall, those opportunities start to dwindle since the sun sets much earlier than in the Summer so if you’ve been thinking about doing an engagement, boudoir, maternity, baby, family, pet, senior or trash the dress session, NOW is the time to book it! 🙂

AdriAnne’s Boudoir Session!
Last week, we photographed AdriAnne’s boudoir pics at the Yellow Rose Inn . She brought all kinds of fun outfits with her and booked Danielle, from Karen Hall & Co to do her hair & make-up…she did a fantastic job! We got lucky and ended up in the Ballroom at the Inn, which is the top floor suite that has a variety of settings including a living room, pool table, massage table and great window light! (And yes, she gave us permission to post these) 😉

Boudoir Info for the Indy Knotties!
I noticed a bunch of hits and inquiries coming in for boudoir pics and found that I was triple recommended on theknot.com today for b-pics, thanks ladies!! 🙂 My next blog post will be from a boudoir session from last week (pending approval from the client of course) so stay tuned for some more recent sample pics. We’re really booked up for this year but I can squeeze in a few more b-pic sessions during the week here and there so if you want to book it, email me at [email protected] They’re SO much fun and I love hearing about how much the husband LOVED the pics after seeing the album!! And there’s no need to worry about any perceived bodily imperfections…you don’t need to be a size 2 to be super sexy ok?! 🙂 We ALWAYS remove anything that needs to be removed in the final album photos and if you’d like, we can "skinny" you up a bit in photoshop for the final album selections, so don’t worry about killing yourself at the gym or waiting until you lose those last 10 pounds before booking your shoot. It’s better to book it and let us work our magic behind the camera and computer afterwards. 😉
P.S. Here are some helpful location/make-up recommendations…
Popular Boudoir Locations:
1. Yellow Rose Inn – Quaint, sexy, Victorian look…Betty, the owner is SUPER nice and her rooms are gorgeous!
2. Westin – The hotel underwent a major renovation so the rooms are all up-to-date with decor. The suites have a mini living room set up and more room to spread out for a photo shoot and they’re known for their "Heavenly Beds"
3. Omni – The Omni downtown has fantastic 2 story suites that many brides use to get ready for their wedding day, it features a small living room area downstairs, a spiral staircase and the bedroom upstairs with gorgeous window light – perfect for boudoir silhouettes
4. Your house – if you’re not afraid that your hubby will find out or possibly walk in during the shoot
5. A friend’s house – if you don’t think yours is "boudoir worthy" 🙂
Obviously, a hotel or B&B is going to be more expensive – usually $150-$350, depending on the location and length of stay. You may also want to consider hiring a professional hair stylist and make-up artist to come to wherever you’re getting ready at for your shoot. We work with Karen Hall & Co. a LOT (LOVE them!!) and she specializes in airbrush make-up which has that fabulous, flawless finish. She can also stick around for additional looks as you change from one outfit to the next so that your make-up matches the overall look you’re going for. Brenda’s Boudoir! (And pet pics) :)
Brenda is one of our August brides and she contacted us about doing a boudoir shoot to surprise her husband on their wedding night. 🙂 (She's approved all of these images to be posted on the blog by the way…) Anyway, we showed up at her friend's house in Geist and it was gorgeous and totally perfect for the shoot…they had the Paris artwork which was perfect for her red & black themed outfit, they had a pink & black room which went well with her black outfit, they had a pirate-themed boys room which matched a pirate costume she brought with her and they even had a wine/martini area that went with her German bar maid costume! Isn't that funny?! She couldn't have picked a better location for her shoot! Of course, my favorite part was the fact that they had 3 cats and a dog!! I was in heaven! Anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE pets and if you book a shoot at a home with pets, you're bound to get some pet photos along the way too! LOL
LOL These tickets were randomly sitting on a dresser in the bedroom, I LOVE Brenda's sense of humor! 😉
