January 2008

What other topics would you like me to write about throughout 2008? New books I'm reading? Photo tips? Wedding tips? I know we'll have a few slower months here and there so I was thinking I'd ask YOU what you want to know and read about!? 🙂

While most people make losing weight their New Year's Resolution (which has always been a "work in progress" goal for me anyway…LOL) John asked me yesterday what mine was this year and my resolution is to blog more! I LOVE blogging but I just don't always have the time so I'm going to try to make more time throughout every week to work on my blog. We have hundreds of returning visitors (thousands some months!) so I know there are lots of you out there reading and looking at pics but my goal for all of YOU is to comment more! LOL I have it set up so that I have to approve comments as they come in so if there's a slight delay in posting comments, that's why. Sometimes we get random spam comments and we have to delete all of that stuff out but I want to know, what's your resolution this year? 🙂

This past weekend, we photographed Lindsay & Justin's wedding & reception in Muncie. They had so many unique, cool details so this blog post will probably be huge but I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites! LOL Justin sent Lindsay flowers that morning…isn't that sweet?!

Lindsay's dress was gorgeous!

And of course, I LOVED her shoes!  🙂

Here's our handsome groom, Justin…

And Lindsay with her bridesmaids…I loved the bridesmaid dresses and their snowballs as "flowers" …so unique!

I had exactly 5 minutes to get as many cool detail shots and window light shots with Lindsay before the wedding since guests arrived a little earlier than expected – yikes! Since they didn't see each other beforehand, I knew the good outdoor light would be gone after the ceremony so we took advantage of it while we could and got some amazing shots!

The church was still decorated for Christmas, it looked like a winter wonderland! 🙂

114.jpg

Lindsay's mom & dad surprised them with a horse drawn carriage after the ceremony, so sweet!!

124.jpg

And they did sparklers as their send-off….

133.jpg143.jpg

While we waited for the carriage to bring them back to the church to finish pics, John grabbed the camera and got this shot! Nice shot honey!! 🙂

151.jpg

Awww…..

161.jpg

Lindsay saw this shot in our portfolio from some winter weddings we did last year so we brought candy canes with us so they could replicate it. 🙂

171.jpg

Loved her flowers…

181.jpg

Oh la la! 🙂

19.jpg

Gorgeous cake!

20.jpg211.jpg

They actually had a mashed potato martini bar that night! How cool is that?! The caterers were scooping out dishes of either mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes and then these over sized martini glasses were filled with goodies and toppings…YUM!

221.jpg231.jpg

Loved the ornaments as centerpieces!

241.jpg

First dance dip at the end, loved it!!

251.jpg

This was such a hilarious sequence, I couldn't help but post all of it. LOL Karissa (the bridesmaid in front) dives for the snowball bouquet during the bouquet toss…it looks like she had it…

26.jpg

But then she lost her grip on it…

27.jpg

And ended up on the floor with another bridesmaid fighting for it! LOL (She won in the end though) 🙂

28.jpg

Lindsay's parents were celebrating their wedding anniversary that night so Lindsay's dad serenaded her mom to a tune from Elvis. It was super cute!! 🙂

29.jpg

We had a great party crowd that night!

30.jpg

At the end of the night, her dad sang another song to Justin & Lindsay…so adorable!!!

Thanks you guys for a great time this weekend, hope you're having fun in Disney World right now! 🙂

Every year my dad's side of the family gets a "Happy Birthday Jesus" cake…we were all trying to remember when that tradition started. We think it was when my sister, Mary, was a little girl and said something like, "Well, if it's Jesus' birthday, we should get him a birthday cake!" LOL Isn't that adorable?! So here's this year's yummy peppermint Classic Cakes Christmas (b-day) cake. 🙂 I took some fun, random photos on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day of relatives and pets that I thought you'd all enjoy too. 😉 Here's my step-mom's adorable guinea pig, named Angel. She rings her little bell every now and then for food and attention, it's so cute!

24.jpg

And here's my aunt Therese with her dog, Rocky.

Gramdad enjoying his customized Hershey's gift we got him on Hershey's website. (He LOVES Hershey's chocolate!)

44.jpg

We had my Aunt Mary in the Christmas draw this year and she was blown away by the custom gallery-wrapped canvas print we made her of her and her furbabies for Christmas. 🙂

54.jpg64.jpg

My sisters made me this awesome pink blanket (then wrapped the Victoria's Secret ribbon around it, how cute is that?!)…it's SO warm and snuggly!! And it's in my favorite color of course…

74.jpg

Here's Mickey, the family dog, next to her favorite new squirrel toy. She and Rocky are sisters (litter mates) and are best friends to say the least. It's so cute to see them together at family get togethers and stuff. I think Aunt Therese and Rocky got her this new toy that she loves…

82.jpg

And this was dad's big gift from us this year…we made him a 30×40 custom canvas print of him in the ND locker room from his 2007 ND football game, he loved it! 🙂

92.jpg

And my step-mom's reaction to the iPod we bought her! 🙂 (Of course, we included an itunes gift card and bling to complete the gift…LOL)

102.jpg

Here's Mary with her all-time favorite gifts – gift cards! 🙂

113.jpg

John & I snuggled up with our new pink blanket from my sisters. We didn't look too bad for only having about 3 hours of sleep that night! LOL We were up late editing and uploading weddings the night before so that many of our clients could enjoy their pics on Christmas day with their families. 🙂

123.jpg

We found some of the cutest gift bags, tissue paper & ribbon this year!

132.jpg

Here's Grandma opening one of her gifts from us. She and Grandpa love to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and the last time we were in there, we noticed that they were selling those tin cans of peanuts wrapped up in Christmas wrap that you could wrap up with a gift card so we did that for one of her gifts this year and she loved it!

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season like we did! 🙂

16.jpg

On 12/16, we sponsored the 2nd annual Holiday Bridal Show at Allisonville Nursery. Despite the weather that morning, we still had a great turn out that afternoon! We had goody bags for all of the vendors and for the first 10 brides that attended the show each hour. The vendors went all out on their booth decor…here's Idieh Design's booth…loved the detail she put into it!

23.jpg

Gorgeous flowers at Chuck's booth! (Of course!)

New dress styles were displayed at Posie Patch's booth…

We had a live band, The Fabulous Imports, who did a great job during the show!

53.jpg

The crew of Northernlight Filmworks! We'll be working with them at a wedding very soon…:)

Here's Anna from Special Occasions by Anna. She provided all of the gorgeous linens, chair covers and sashes for our show. It looked AMAZING!

Ilene from Classic Cakes did an awesome job with her displays as usual!

Lilly (one of the Nursery cats) kept everyone entertained by going from booth to booth that night too! LOL

Thanks everyone for another great show and mark your calendars for our 2nd annual Summer Bridal Show on June 22, 2008!
