August 2008

Ok, so this is kind of funny (but kind of not)…you all know that I have a massive database of friends, family, past clients, their families, etc, etc. We’re talking thousands and thousands of email addresses…well, FaceBook has this feature where you can upload your database and they’ll send friend requests to your contacts. What they don’t tell you is that there is an unknown limit as to how many contacts you can upload in a certain period of time. Apparently, I had too many friend requests sent out and too many new friends added too quickly and they thought I was spamming people! LOL Isn’t that hilarious?! Well, it was funny until we thought “OMG, are we going to have to create a whole new FB page and ask everyone to re-friend us!?” :O So I emailed the powers that be and luckily got my account reactivated tonight after I told them what happened. I was happy when I got the email saying they reactivated my account – yay!! So yeah, life is good again and feel free to friend us…just not all at once. LOL 😉

On 8/10, we had a party for John’s b-day at my mom’s house. We have a lot of b-day parties in our family throughout August & September it seems!! 🙂 He was so excited that my mom got him a new watch…he actually lost his at the Summer Bridal Show and we never did find it. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch with my mom & grandparents that afternoon and then headed back to her house for cake and presents…

My grandparents got him a sweater for the Fall season and a bunch of gift cards for date nights! (Thanks you guys!!) 🙂 We’ll be enjoying those soon I hope! 🙂

Mandy wore herself out from all of the festivities….LOL

And speaking of birthdays…lol…no, mine isn’t until 9/9 but I had ordered a cake a month in advance because the cake shop was so busy with wedding orders that I wanted to make sure I got my order in on time. Well, they must be used to people placing last minute orders because they accidentally wrote down 8/9 instead of 9/9 so we got another cake out of the deal. LOL 🙂

Most people aren’t lucky enough to get a trial run of their b-day cake a month in advance! LOL It was soooo good though…the top layer was peppermint and the bottom was chocolate…but we couldn’t eat it all so we started giving some of it away…

On 8/9, we photographed Andrea & Michael’s pink & green themed wedding & reception at Valle Vista! They were such a great couple to photograph, they’re gorgeous people – inside & out – which makes our job super easy! 🙂 Andi had a Colts garter since they’re both Colts fans…

And some HOT shoes!! You know it’s going to be a fun day when you walk in and the bride is wearing THESE! 🙂

Here’s Michael, looking all studly….

And Andrea, isn’t she gorgeous!?

I LOVED her flowers!!! Randy & Debbie Watson from Distinctive Designs did all of their fresh florals that day. The bouquets and centerpieces were so beautiful and non-traditional…loved it!

I told her she has a Julia Roberts smile, don’t you agree?? 😀

This shot below is probably one of my all time favorites of the day…we put it on the slideshow and Andrea loved it too!! She’s sooooo pretty!!

I love it when I walk out on a Saturday morning and see bright blue skies and puffy white clouds…

Another favorite….

Somehow at the end of pre-ceremony photos, Michael managed to get a splinter in his finger….but have no fear, we carry tweezers in the massive emergency kit we bring with us. 🙂 And it just so happens that Andi is a nurse so between the two of us, we got him fixed up in time for the ceremony! 🙂

::high five::

More cool flowers…of course, the fact that they were pink & green made me go even more gaga over them! LOL

Check out her cute favor boxes!!

I loved her centerpieces and the chair covers, it really makes a huge difference when you dress up banquet rooms with full length linens, chair covers and gorgeous flowers! 🙂

After the ceremony, they took a horse drawn carriage around the property…and it just so happened to be around sunset! I was so excited because I knew how much she loved their engagement pics that we shot a few months ago at sunset and now they have some wedding shots that match the look of their engagement session!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!

Gypsy (the horse) even got her nails done for their event! LOL

She’s such a sweet horse and she loves all of her brides that she totes around every weekend. 🙂

GORGEOUS! I think this is a new favorite shot at this photo spot!

One thing I enjoy doing is shooting fun ring shots so you’ll see a lot in this post and in more future posts to come…

They had Indy Photo Booth at their reception and I LOVED IT!! Indy Photo Booth actually had a booth at our bridal show in June and our booths were next to one another. (Some of you probably remember that!) Not only were they the nicest people but their concept is amazing. Guests get in and take fun & silly shots of themselves and then they get one side of the strip of photos and the bride & groom get the other side put into a Creative Memories album at the end of the night. Guests sign in next to their photos and the couple has an AWESOME keepsake from their reception. Guests loved it and so did we! Check out their website for more info!

I don’t think anyone who was at the reception will EVER forget this! LOL Andi got him GOOD that night…

But don’t worry, when she wasn’t expecting it, he got her back! LOL

Loved this shot from the daddy/daughter dance…

More fun ring shots…

Remember the “baking cookies” contest we had for this couple earlier this year? Well, here’s how it turned out!! Valle Vista baked up some sugar cookies with pink & green M&Ms that were served at the end of the night. Definitely photo worthy!! 🙂

And here’s that cool scrapbook from Indy Photo Booth!

Thanks you guys for a fun time!! More pics coming soon! 🙂

Just a quick FYI to all of my FaceBook friends…we’re having some technical difficulties with my FaceBook page today but I’ve emailed them and I’m awaiting a reply. Hopefully I won’t have to create a new FB page and have all 500 of you refriend me again. LOL What a nightmare!!

I’m a little behind in blogging since I’ve been editing weddings so much lately but I wanted to post some pics from John’s b-day. 🙂 His favorite thing to do every summer is to go to the State Fair & we have so much fun hanging out together. The dates of the fair actually fell on his b-day this year and he had the day off from work so we made a day of it. I got tickets for the fair train and we spent the day oohing and ahhing over adorable animals!!

Isn’t this guy adorable?! I wanted to take him home sooooo bad. The French Lops are my favorite!!

How cute is this?!?!?! 🙂

This guy was so funny…he was so big and was just chilling out on his water bowl. I couldn’t decide which view I liked better so I chose both pics of him…

Another cutie…notice the marble under him? I think they do that to keep them cool – great idea!

John’s favorite slushy drinks…

Then we played a water game and I won this cute alligator for him….:)

Then we headed over to the butterfly garden. This butterfly was actually right outside the garden area and was so tame that he let me hold the stem with one hand and shoot the photo with the other. (It was a tad windy that afternoon)

Gorgeous sunset!

The fair train coming back to pick us up….notice a bit of flare here…love it! 🙂

The next evening, we went to my dad’s to celebrate his b-day with that side of the family…

It happened to be the night of the opening ceremonies for the Olympics so we were all a bit glued to the TV that evening but we had a lot of fun & he had another awesome b-day!! 🙂
