October 2008

Last weekend we also photographed Anna’s senior pictures at Holcomb Gardens! I LOVE shooting seniors because it’s kind of like photographing models (so much FUN!!) but when she showed up, I didn’t know that she really HAD done some modeling in the past!! 🙂 Isn’t she GORGEOUS!?

Most people don’t know this but after last year’s portrait sessions, we purchased this portable changing room so that our clients wouldn’t have to change clothes in their car or go hunting for an open bathroom…especially since we shoot at a lot of obscure places that don’t always have bathrooms that are easily accessible or open 24/7. Isn’t this AWESOME?! It just flips up & zips open and the client can walk into it (the top is open) and then zip it up, change clothes and then John (my hubby) can fold it back down and easily carry it with us! To all of you who have upcoming photo shoots with us – if you’re bringing a change of clothes, let us know so we can grab the changing room out of our trunk before your photo shoot ok? 😉

Anna also brought her furbaby with her!! He was SO SWEET!! 🙂

BELLY RUBS!!

Yeah, definitely model material… Hopefully you’ll all be seeing her on the blog again very soon!! 😉

We brought some props with us that day…I find my inspiration from all kinds of various websites, blogs, forums, etc. I couldn’t decide if I liked the serious face better or the happy face, so I blogged them both. 🙂

FAVORITE!!

And another favorite!

I was just playing around with some of her pics the other night and came up with this…wouldn’t this make a great comp card?!

Thanks for a fun time Anna!! Hope to see you again soon! 🙂

Last weekend, we photographed Kim & Greg’s family pics! They have 4 adorable kiddos and 2 adorable furbabies that made the trip down from Ft. Wayne to Holcomb Gardens for a Sunday morning photo shoot! 🙂

Mom & dad making a frame of their children…. 🙂

Loved this one!

Then we did some updated shots of mom & dad together…. 😉

They are looking HOT here!! 🙂

Feetsies!!! 🙂

Thought I’d try color toning this one…loved it!!

One big happy family 🙂

LOL!! Boys will be boys…

LOL (Yes, I’m shooting in the recycling bin here….)

LOL Loved this one…maybe it’s just our weird sense of humor?! 🙂

FAVORITE!!

Thanks for a fun time at your photo shoot!! More pics coming soon! 🙂

Last week, we photographed Pam & Hai’s engagement session at Holcomb Gardens! The weather was so perfect that day and we even managed to grab some gorgeous sunset (flare) shots! 🙂

They are SO adorable together and have such great smiles! 🙂

LOVED this infra red shot!

And the sun flare, of course!! 🙂

Pam recently passed her nursing exam (CONGRATS!!) so Hai surprised her with a huge bouquet of flowers! We sprinkled some of the petals on the ground for these shots…bet he didn’t think they’d be used as a prop for their photo shoot?! LOL 🙂

Thanks for a fun time that evening!! Can’t wait to see you guys and your sister & her hubby again soon!! 🙂

On 9/21, we photographed Susan & Kent’s amazing wedding & reception at the Indy Zoo and University Place Hotel in downtown Indy. April from Blu Sky Designs created these GORGEOUS invitations for them, isn’t she AMAZING!?!

We started at the hotel for some fun dressing room shots…I LOVED her dress!!

And check out these HOT shoes! You know it’s going to be a fun day when you walk into a dressing room and see these!! 🙂

Susan’s baby niece was in the dressing room with her so we thought we’d do a cute shoe shot for her…

Showing off a friend’s photo!

I LOVED these green ties and vests!! And yes, this was a pink & green wedding!! I was in total heaven! 🙂

Kent’s nephews helping him get ready…

Our handsome groom, Kent…

Our STUNNING bride!! Isn’t her bouquet FAB?! Palmer Kelley provided her flowers and we were SO impressed!

They are so cute together, we just adore them!

I did some more infra red shots in and around the gardens that day…oh my goodness, I was in LOVE with this shot!

Loved her bridesmaids flowers too!!

Kent’s parents are so cute together! His dad actually gave our services as a gift to the couple and I overheard Susan thank him for us around the time we took this pic, isn’t that adorably sweet?!?! {HUGS!!!} I’ll never forget that moment, it was one of those “geez, I love my job” moments! 🙂

I loved her hair piece…

I ADORE petal tosses!!

Another cool infra red shot before the ceremony…

The giveaway was so emotional, Susan’s dad started singing when he gave her away and then went up and hugged his new son-in-law, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!

Another neat infra red shot…I’d love to see this as a panoramic shot on a 2 page album spread, wouldn’t that be neat!?

YAY!!

Susan ended up wearing her cute ballet slippers during most of the day, I’m sure they were more comfy than most high heels!!

GORGEOUS!!! She could totally be a model! 🙂

I walked into the reception site and was in love with all of the gorgeous details to photograph! Full length linens, chair covers, dinner programs, favors, beautiful centerpieces and an amazing cake! WOW! The University Place Hotel staff along with her day of coordinator, Desirae Chism did a great job of pulling it all together.

LOVED her cake!

I guess I should’ve forewarned everyone that this would be a long post…I think I originally chose about 200 pics to post but I had to narrow them down or else it wouldn’t be much of a preview, huh?! LOL Can you believe this shot below was taken in a COAT closet?! Yes, I’ll do anything for a good shot! 🙂

So sweet!!

I hope you guys are having a blast on your TWO week honeymoon! (I’m jealous!) 😉 More pics coming soon!!!

Sorry for the lack of blog posts everyone!! We’ve been SO BUSY shooting this Fall season so now we’ll be making up for it and posting almost every day now to catch up and to keep us caught up! 😉 On 9/20, we photographed Sara & Steve’s wedding & reception at Avon Gardens. We started out at a nearby hotel for some dressing room detail shots…I LOVED her dress, it was so pretty! 🙂 Karen Hall & Co. did a fantastic job with everyone’s make-up that day too!

We arrived at Avon Gardens and it was so sunny and beautiful at first…we got everything set up, went looking for the flowers and then bam! It started thundering outside!! EEEK! We couldn’t believe it!! The radar was only predicting a 10% chance of rain that day so I thought we were totally in the clear…but Mother Nature had different plans for us unfortunately. Luckily I got some cool infra red shots of the ceremony site set up & we got the family pics in before it started pouring outside!

Sara got dressed at the gardens, I loved her mom’s facial expression in this one! 🙂

STUNNING! Isn’t she a gorgeous bride?! She played up the “model” look so well! 🙂

Posh Petals provided her flowers for the wedding…so pretty!

About 30 minutes before the ceremony started, the sky opened up and rained…so all of us wedding pros got together to decide what the best possible back-up plan would be and the staff at Avon Gardens started moving chairs over to the reception pavilion and dried them off quickly, they were awesome!

Loved her cupcake cake! A Little Bite of Heaven provided their cupcake cake…

And we all made the best of the weather situation by moving a TON of people under the reception pavilion for the ceremony…

Sara’s uncle officiated the ceremony which was so sweet and personalized!

YAY!! The rain stopped in just enough time to run outside and do some quick pictures with the wedding party & bride and groom! 🙂

They made these thank you signs for a photo to include in their thank you notes…cute!

A little cross processed action on this one….

I LOVE this one…they are so sweet together, can’t you just tell how much she adores Steve?! Awwwww!!

Cheers!

I think this if my favorite of the two of them together…her face is priceless and it really shows off the gorgeous style of her gown! 🙂

Sara & Steve are from Colorado so they incorporated a lot of nature into their decor & favors. They even took pictures around Colorado and had them framed at each table….fab idea!!

Instead of a traditional guest book, they had their guests sign a special plate that they could later hang on their wall in their new home…

They also brought some Colorado rocks to Indy to use in the centerpieces! Loved that idea!!

Jon Bruce provided the DJ entertainment for the event…he was so organized and even emailed his timeline and paperwork to all of the vendors ahead of time, I love it when DJs do that! 🙂

The couple surprised her brother with a special cupcake since it was his birthday! 🙂 YUM!

Hope you guys had fun on your honeymoon!! More pics coming soon! 🙂
