Maggie + Ryan = Engaged!
When I first met with Maggie & Ryan, I asked what they like to do together and Ryan mentioned that he loved going to baseball games together! His eyes lit up when I suggested doing an engagement shoot at Victory Field and after a couple of emails to a friend/past client who works there, we made it happen! We had so much fun with them that day!! 🙂
Mary + Matt = Married!
On 7/1, we photographed Mary & Matt’s gorgeous Kate Middleton-inspired wedding!! Everything was right on point…her dress, flowers, opulent church, replica cake, earrings, and even the “Duchess” signature drink, it was all perfect! She had a fabulous vendor team to pull it off too:

- How did he propose?
- In 2015, we spent Christmas with our families and apart from each other. Following a nice dinner with friends on New Year’s Eve, we exchanged Christmas gifts at home. The final present Matt gave me came in a gift bag from a local jewelry store. I thought he had gotten me a necklace, which we had shopped for together before Christmas, but when I opened the gift bag, I was totally surprised to find it contained an engagement ring instead! Best New Year’s ever!
- What was your favorite wedding moment?
- I have lots of favorite moments, but walking down the aisle with my mom and brother while being humbled by the presence of all of our friends and family members and seeing Matt’s eyes when he saw me for the first time in my gown and veil was just priceless!
- What was his favorite wedding moment?
- One of my favorite moments was seeing Mary’s face light up when we arrived at the reception. I immediately knew that she was thrilled with how everything came together, and that made all of the time and effort spent planning in the months leading up to the wedding totally worth it.
- What was the funniest wedding moment?
- Both the Matron of Honor and the Best Man gave great speeches which included funny-but-not-embarrassing jokes that made the whole room laugh.
- What was your first dance song?
- “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra
- Where did you go on your honeymoon?
- We just took a short “mini-moon” right after the wedding. We went to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine. It was beautiful!
- What advice would you give to future brides?
- Lots of people will tell you that your wedding day will go by so incredibly fast, and those people could not be more correct. Try not to spend your whole wedding day obsessing over the details, and make a conscious effort to experience and enjoy the day!

NOW BOOKING Fall Minis! This is my FAVORITE time of year for photos…the weather is cool, the leaves are gorgeous & everyone wears the cutest Fall clothes for their sessions! Mini sessions are perfect for quick, updated family photos, Christmas cards, engagement pics, head shots, maternity, baby, children, senior or pet photos! Due to our busy Fall wedding schedule, we won’t have a designated weekend for Fall minis this year so we’ve decided to book them on an individual basis, either before or after other shoots that are already on our calendar. Amelia + Caleb = Engaged!

Abby + Nathan = Married!
On 6/24, we photographed Abby & Nathan’s fun wedding! 🙂 It was such an incredible day; from the 20 person choir that sang during the ceremony, to the “Love Actually” quotes during the maid of honor’s speech to the surprise dance with her dad, it was awesome!!

1. How did he propose?
Nathan took me to The Oceanaire for a wonderful meal, and then took us to Butler, where we met in our undergrad. They say that if you kiss someone under the Bell Tower at Butler, you will marry them. Nathan walked us all the way to the top and proposed at the Bell Tower. It was exactly what I had hoped for.
2. What was your favorite wedding moment?
I loved getting beautified in the morning – hair, makeup, jewelry and of course my lovely dress. BUT I think the best part was our first look. I loved that private moment together.
3. What was his favorite wedding moment?
I loved being surrounded by so many friends and family, and sharing so much love with Abby. I also liked our commissioned choir piece being performed by our friends and joined families.
4. What was the funniest wedding moment?
The funniest moment is when our 4 year old flower girl aggressively threw all of the flowers in her basket at once, leaving a huge clump on the floor and raining flowers on the guests. She then got to the end of the aisle and shouted “I don’t have any more.”
5. What was your first dance song?
“The Luckiest” by Ben Folds
6. Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Nathan planned the honeymoon on his own so it was a complete surprise to me. We went to a bed and breakfast in South Haven, MI, an adorable tourist town with local wineries, great shops, a beautiful beach and delicious restaurants. On our way home, we went over to Chicago and saw Hamilton the Musical!! It was so much fun!
7. What advice would you give to future brides?
The wedding goes by SO FAST. Try to talk to all of your guests as much as possible. I’m very thankful we did a receiving line so we spoke to everyone and thanked them for coming. Unfortunately, that’s all I was able to do for some guests! Also, I really loved doing the first look. It took a lot of anxiety away by being able to see and talk to Nathan for most of the day. Don’t worry – walking down the aisle and seeing your groom’s face is still incredibly special!
