Favorite Blogs & Websites

I'm interrupting my Mexico blog posts to make a quick announcement! LOL Jessica Claire has been one of my favorite fellow photographers for awhile now and some of you whose weddings we've photographed recently have seen me sporting my new, snazzy Shootsac, one of her new products that I LOVE! It arrived while we were in Mexico so my first chance to use it was at Chelsea & Paris's 7/28 wedding in Ft. Wayne. (Since I'm trying to blog in the order of our events – and I'm up to 7/20/07, I haven't had the chance to show these pics or tell the story behind all of them yet but I'm getting there!) Anyway, on the day of their wedding, we parked at the Hilton across the street from the Embassy Theater, where our couple was getting married that day, and as we were walking through the garage tunnel, I looked down and saw all of these pink flamingos at the garden next door! I literally started jumping up and down because I KNEW they would make it into some photos for Jessica…pink flamingos are her mascot for her new Shootsacs! 🙂 After the ceremony, we were outside near the garden taking pics and I told Diana to get one of me shooting the couple with the flamingos and my Shootsac in the pic…I think Chelsea and Paris were a little confused at first but I told them I'd explain it all later. LOL I e-mailed 2 of my favorites to Jessica and today, they made her blog!! YAY!!! Check it out: www.shootsacblog.com

Side note: To other photographers who read my blog, I highly recommend her Shootsac, it's great for storing stuff when you're on the go…we used it in the dressing room by putting our most used emergency kit supplies in it and we used it throughout the day for lenses, flashes, batteries and other miscellaneous stuff. Plus, it's super cute and you all know I'm all about that!! 🙂

Some of you probably remember last year's blog post about my dad participating in the Notre Dame Fantasy Football Camp. Well, on July 4th we headed north to South Bend again for another awesome game and even more great memories. Check out some of my favorites! 🙂 Since Rocco's was going to be closed on 7/4, John & I had dinner with my aunt and my sisters at Rocco's the night before dad's big game. They have the best pizza in South Bend and now dad's picture from last year's game hangs on their walls next to Lou Holtz, Frank Leahy and other famous ND coaches and players!

It rained early that morning but cleared up in time for all of us to head over to the stadium…

Since we got there early, I pulled out my fisheye and snapped a few cool, unique pics of Touchdown Jesus…

John got a shot of my nails…:) Last year, my sisters painted their nails blue & gold for dad's game and so the day before we left, I had a few minutes to run over and get my nails filled and when I got there, they had a new shade of blue polish…so, what the heck, I went ahead and painted them blue & gold. 😀 Of course, the lady at the nail place probably thought I had lost my mind. LOL Oh, by the way…if you look closely, you can see where the logo bling idea came from. 😀 My e-ring is a heart shaped diamond…unique and girley, John did good. 🙂

We had Mazda Signs in Carmel print up this 30×40 in. banner for dad before we left and they did a fantastic job!!  We surprised him with it that day after he came out onto the field for practice…he had the best looking sign of course….;)

Us pros rarely get our pics taken…LOL…here's one of Mike, the official NDFFC photographer…he's a great sports photographer and the official Notre Dame football photographer too. I talked to his wife for awhile during half time and she's so nice!! He stays with the guys from the day they arrive until after the game so he's able to get a lot of behind the scenes shots that I love…and I'll be buying more this year I'm sure! 😀

After the game, we all had dinner in the President's VIP box upstairs. It was delicious and the view was incredible….here's my favorite shot of dad taking it all in. I don't think he knows we got this shot…:)

Our first Summer Bridal Show at Allisonville Nursery was a complete success! Over 100 engaged couples attended our show and there was a line to get in at 3 p.m! LOL After 5 long months of planning, it all came together beautifully. We had a 40×60 ft decorated white tent behind the nursery filled with dozens of local wedding professionals and a few furry friends too. (above) 🙂 This kitty lives at Allisonville Nursery and decided that she would rest on a comfy chiavari chair provided by Elite Coordinators
