Personal

Last weekend was amazing, we celebrated my 33rd b-day by taking the weekend off and filling it full of fun things to do together. Last Friday we went to the First Friday food truck fest at the Murat. We had always wanted to go check it out and it was pretty neat. I found an amazing BBQ turkey truck! Yum! On Saturday we went out to Tuttle’s, our favorite orchard. We picked apples and went through their cute little store then we headed to Buca’s for my b-day dinner. After that we went to my dad’s house to watch the Notre Dame game, wish they would have won!

On Sunday, my Aunt Mary & I had a joint b-day party that night that was a lot of fun. Classic Cakes made us an amazing ruffled, ombre cake that looked so awesome! 🙂 We all had a good laugh that night because my sister Leah bought me the “Wedding Dogs” book for my b-day without realizing that we’re actually published in it!! LOL! I was able to show off our work and the story in the book, it was so funny.

Then on Monday, John & I had lunch with dad at Cheesecake Factory where we told him that after lunch, we were heading to the Humane Society and that he was going to be a “grand paw” again. LOL! That afternoon we rescued two beautiful kitties, Lola & Chloe. They both jumped in John’s lap as soon as he sat down in the catio area. They literally said, “choose us!” So we did! Lola is the gray & white 2 1/2 year old kitty and Chloe is the 5 month old kitten, who we recently figured out likes to play dress up! I bought her the cutest outfits and she LOVES to wear them! I plan on doing a little photo shoot with her and her outfits soon. 😉

On 8/11, my dad, sisters and I pulled off a surprise party for my step-mom’s 60th birthday! Our whole family helped with set-up and kept up with the undercover story that my sisters were going to take Kitty out for lunch and manicures while the rest of us managed to pull off the set-up of cake, flowers, food, drinks, photo booth & a DVD slideshow in a short timeframe. By the time they got back, set-up was complete, cars were hidden and 50 of her closest friends & family members were in the living room yelling, “Surprise!!” The look on her face was priceless! At the end of the night, we had one more surprise for her. All of her friends and family (and some people who wanted to attend but were unable to) wrote letters to her that included special memories and things they’ve experienced together over the years. Needless to say, I think it was her best birthday ever! Thank you to everyone who helped pull it off & make it an awesome party!! 🙂

It’s been a busy month of birthdays within our family already and we have even more coming up soon! 🙂 Last week, we celebrated John’s 29th birthday on 8/7 with a trip to the Indiana State Museum to see the Star Wars exhibit, followed by a family birthday dinner at La Piedad’s, Holy Cow Cupcakes, an overnight at the Renaissance together, and what was supposed to be a day at the fair. The weather didn’t hold up for us so that got postponed to this week and we went to Tuttles instead. 😉 John had a great time, to say the least!! Happy Birthday John, I love you!!

Last week we celebrated Ben’s 13th birthday with him, he’s SUCH a sweet kitty!!! He loves to snuggle with me at night and his latest thing is sleeping on my head. It’s the cutest thing ever, I wake up to purrs in my ear and a paw in my face usually. 🙂 He sat pretty for his annual birthday photo shoot and then we surprised him with lots of new toys. His favorite is the pink one with the feather and the catnip! He licked that thing for hours!! LOL! Since I had the camera out, I took some updated pics of the rest of our furry family at the same time. I love our little family! Happy Birthday Benny!! Love you!

On 7/20, we surprised my Aunt Brenda with a 50th Birthday party at my uncle’s house! After a day of pampering at the spa and a fun movie with my uncle, she came home to find about 40 of her closest friends and family members yelling, “Surprise!” in her living room! 🙂 She loved the set up, flowers, cake, catering, photo booth and all of the fun things that we helped plan that night. My uncle ended the evening with a firework show for her and we brought our sparklers for some fun photos at the end of the night. I think everyone had a great time! 🙂 Happy Birthday Aunt Brenda!!
