Wedding Tips & Trends

Our first Summer Bridal Show at Allisonville Nursery was a complete success! Over 100 engaged couples attended our show and there was a line to get in at 3 p.m! LOL After 5 long months of planning, it all came together beautifully. We had a 40×60 ft decorated white tent behind the nursery filled with dozens of local wedding professionals and a few furry friends too. (above) 🙂 This kitty lives at Allisonville Nursery and decided that she would rest on a comfy chiavari chair provided by Elite Coordinators

…and the cutest baby shower idea EVER! I had to post this for my clients who are doing maternity pics and are having baby showers in the near future. Anna Godar from Special Occasions by Anna made this adorable diaper cake display that was a huge hit!!

Ever since I posted the underwater shots from last weekend, we've been getting a TON of e-mails with everyone in awe and itching to see more, so here you go!! This may be the longest post ever! LOL

We started out at Avon Perrenial Gardens….getting their feet wet. Then sitting in the creek…

I loved this one….a little cross processed action going on….

Her eyes just pop in this one…LOVE IT!

Her bouquet was amazing!! It lasted all the way through the wedding day and trash the dress session which is incredible for hydrangeas! I was prepared to stop by a flower shop to pick another bouquet up for her so that we'd have another prop for the shoot and when we arrived, she was there with her wedding day bouquet in hand!! Kudos to Chuck Eaglin from The Florist at Allisonville Nursery on the fabulous, fresh flowers!

April has the best luck with the weather…every time we have a photo shoot with her, the weather is great and we have fabulous blue skies!

And here we are at the war memorial fountain…getting a little more wet.

Occasionally I like to use props…LOL…this one was pretty funny. Last year when we were in Sanibel Island, I bought this awesome book in a restaurant gift shop about wedding day survival guide tips. As I was packing up for their TTD session, I was looking around my office for some props we may be able to use and came across this book again…this page is titled, "How to Fix the Groom's Wedding Attire" LOL

I guess when I see Chuck this weekend, I need to tell him that his bouquets float! LOL Who knew?!

And of course, "How to Fix the Bride's Wedding Attire"…

Since we're known for our famous emergency kits that we bring to every wedding (and all of the Shout wipes that we go through) we pulled out the box for this shot as a joke. 😀

Soaking wet!

On Friday, we photographed April & Neil's wedding…they were up for ANYTHING artsy and non-traditional (which I LOVE) and since they weren't planning on leaving for their honeymoon for a day or two, we decided to do their trash the dress session yesterday. It was perfect timing too…TrashTheDress.com was just featured on Good Morning America yesterday morning and as we were getting ready to leave for their photo shoot, we were watching the TV segment showcasing this new concept in wedding photography…I love being on the forefront of a new trend. 🙂

One bride who was interviewed on Good Morning America said something like, "I said my vows to my new husband, not to my dress" which I thought was perfect. The ides is that you'll never wear the dress again and your future daughter won't want to wear it so this is the perfect way to create some extraordinary photos in unique settings after the wedding. The idea isn't to completely ruin it (usually) but to get it wet and filthy…April will still be able to dry clean it and preserve it, she just might have a few extra stains to look back on and smile years from now after she remembers how much fun we had together yesterday. 🙂

We started their day at the Avon Perennial Gardens and got a ton of pics of them in the creek, getting wet and having fun in the garden area, it was gorgeous!! Then, we went to the war memorial fountain where we took some fun pics of April getting completely wet for the first time in the dress. After that, we went to my aunt's house…she has a beautiful pool in her backyard that was perfect for a TTD session. These are just a few of my faves that caught my eye after downloading tonight…there will be MANY more posted throughout this week as I continue to edit. 😀 Keep checking back!!
The groom…just hanging out. 🙂
Her bouquet was floating the whole time!
Loved this one…she started to grab her bouquet and the dress whipped around. You can see how dirty her dress was around the bottom edges by that time…
More coming soon!!
